Château d'Issan 2021 Demi is the grand vin of Château d'Issan in Margaux, offered here in the 37.5 cl half-bottle format. It is a useful size when you want to open a serious Médoc wine without committing to a full bottle.This red Bordeaux comes from the Margaux appellation and carries the pedigree of a 3ème Grand Cru Classé from the 1855 classification. The 2021 blend is led by Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, with smaller proportions of Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot. It was only the second vintage in which all five classic red Bordeaux varieties were used in d'Issan's grand vin.
The character of the vintage is shaped by freshness and precision. The fruit comes from old vines within the château's walled vineyard, on gravelly soils with a clay subsoil. Vinification took place parcel by parcel in a gravity-fed cellar, followed by maturation in French oak barrels, half of them new.

About CH D'ISSAN
Ch D'Issan is a historic winery from the famous Bordeaux region in France and is part of the Margaux appellation. The chateau is especially known for its red wines, which are usually composed of classic Bordeaux grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The history of the estate dates back to the 12th century, but Ch D'Issan gained its current reputation mainly from the 19th century onwards, partly due to its classification as Troisième Cru, or third growth status, in the famous Bordeaux classification of 1855. The vineyards are situated on gravelly soils near the river Gironde, which contributes to the characteristic style of the wines: elegant, balanced and with fine ageing potential. The production is traditional with great attention to terroir and selection of the grapes. In addition to the Grand Vin, a second wine is also produced, often more accessible at a younger age. Ch D'Issan is widely praised for its refined aromas, a harmonious structure and its ability to age beautifully in the cellar. The chateau itself is a remarkable monument, surrounded by moats, which adds to the unique appearance of this Margaux estate.
