Product info about Clos De L'oratoire 2021 Magnum (1,5l)
Clos De L'Oratoire 2021 Magnum is a red Bordeaux from Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, presented in a 1.5 litre bottle. The magnum format gives this Grand Cru Classé a real sense of occasion, especially when the bottle is opened at the table rather than simply poured in the background.The 2021 vintage is made from 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc. That combination says a lot about the wine: Merlot brings roundness and depth, while Cabernet Franc adds aromatic detail, structure and length. The estate's vineyard lies on the north-eastern slope of Saint-Emilion, with clay-limestone and molasse de Fronsac higher up the slope and clay-sand soils lower down. The wine is certified organic under FR-BIO-10.
Fermentation took place in wooden vats, followed by 15 months of ageing on fine lees in oak barrels, 30% of them new. The 2021 vintage is described through a fresher, more transparent lens, with fine tannins and a lively line alongside ripe red and dark fruit.
