Château Cos d'Estournel 2021 Demi is the half-bottle format of the grand vin from Château Cos d'Estournel in Saint-Estèphe, Médoc. As a Deuxième Grand Cru Classé from the 1855 classification, it carries serious Bordeaux pedigree, yet the 2021 vintage is especially notable for its precision: Cabernet-led, structured and more restrained than opulent.The blend is 64% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot. The fruit comes from the estate's oldest vines, averaging around 55 years of age, and only 53% of production made it into the grand vin. Ageing took place in French oak barrels, around 55% new, with the oak showing through cedar, tobacco, spice and a light toasted note rather than overt sweetness.

Château Cos d'Estournel is a renowned winery from the French Bordeaux region, specifically located in the Saint-Estèphe appellation in the Médoc. The estate was founded in the early 19th century by Louis-Gaspard d'Estournel, who dedicated himself to producing complex and characterful wines exclusively from his own vineyards. Cos d'Estournel is known as a Deuxième Grand Cru Classé since the famous 1855 classification, in which it was counted among the top of the region. The winery covers about 100 hectares and has been expanded and modernized during various periods, but the distinctive Asian-inspired architecture and the impressive gatehouse are still iconic. The wine of Château Cos d'Estournel is traditionally characterized by a high proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon, supplemented by Merlot and occasionally small amounts of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.
