Chateau Cos D'Estournel 2016
On request only
Château Cos d'Estournel 2016 is the grand vin of this Saint-Estèphe estate in the northern Médoc. It is a red Bordeaux blend built primarily on cabernet sauvignon, with merlot and a small touch of cabernet franc. The vineyard setting is central to the wine: the estate describes its site as a hill of pebbles, with deep gravel, clay-limestone sections and grapes for the first wine coming from older vines.
The 2016 vintage was shaped by a cold, wet spring followed by a hot, dry summer. Rain on 13 September was considered important by the estate for continued ripening, before harvest took place from late September to mid-October. The wine spent 15 months in French oak barrels, with a significant share of new oak, while the style is described as structured (…)Chateau Cos D'Estournel 2016 Magnum (1,5l)

Chateau Cos D'Estournel 2016 Magnum (1,5l)
On request only
Château Cos d'Estournel 2016 Magnum is the grand vin of this Saint-Estèphe estate in the northern Médoc. As a Deuxième Grand Cru Classé from the 1855 classification, Cos d'Estournel carries a serious Bordeaux pedigree, and the 2016 vintage brings together concentration, refinement and clear Saint-Estèphe structure.
The blend is led by cabernet sauvignon, supported by merlot and a small proportion of cabernet franc. The growing season was marked by contrast: a cold, wet start, followed by a warm, dry summer, with September rain helping the ripening process resume. According to the estate, the berries reached ripeness without becoming overripe. In the gravity-fed cellar, gentle handling was used to preserve fruit expression and (…)Chateau Cos D'Estournel 2021 Demi (37,5cl)

Chateau Cos D'Estournel 2021 Demi (37,5cl)

Château Cos d'Estournel 2021 Demi is the half-bottle format of the grand vin from Château Cos d'Estournel in Saint-Estèphe, Médoc. As a Deuxième Grand Cru Classé from the 1855 classification, it carries serious Bordeaux pedigree, yet the 2021 vintage is especially notable for its precision: Cabernet-led, structured and more restrained than opulent.
The blend is 64% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot. The fruit comes from the estate's oldest vines, averaging around 55 years of age, and only 53% of production made it into the grand vin. Ageing took place in French oak barrels, around 55% new, with the oak showing through cedar, tobacco, spice and a light toasted note rather than overt sweetness.

Château Cos d'Estournel 2022 in demi-bottle is the Grand Vin of the estate from Saint-Estèphe in the Médoc. The 37.5 cl format is simply the half-bottle size, not a different cuvée: it is the same red Saint-Estèphe AOC from a château classified as a Deuxième Grand Cru Classé in 1855.
The 2022 vintage is shaped by early ripening, warmth and dry conditions. On the hill of Cos, the deep roots of older vines and the clay-rich parts of the vineyard were important in handling the heat and drought. Cabernet sauvignon forms the core of the blend, supported by a substantial share of merlot and small amounts of cabernet franc and petit verdot.
In the cellar, the work was carried out parcel by parcel, using gravity (…)G D'Estournel 2022

G D'Estournel 2022

G D'Estournel 2022 is a red Médoc from Château Cos d'Estournel in Bordeaux. It is worth placing it correctly: this is the G d'Estournel cuvée, not the château's grand vin and not Les Pagodes de Cos. The fruit comes from vineyards in the northern Médoc, close to the Gironde estuary, a setting the estate links to the wine's freshness in the ripe 2022 vintage.
Merlot takes the lead in the blend, supported by cabernet sauvignon and small amounts of cabernet franc and petit verdot. That gives the wine a rounded, ripe dark-fruit direction, while the structure remains more supple and approachable than severe. With 20% new oak noted for the vintage, the wood influence is presented as a supporting element rather than the main feature.

G d'Estournel 2022 is the Médoc wine made by the team behind Château Cos d'Estournel. It sits apart from the grand vin and from Pagodes de Cos, yet it carries the same sense of care: a Bordeaux shaped by origin, vintage and precise blending rather than by excess.
The 2022 blend is led by Merlot, supported by Cabernet Sauvignon and small amounts of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. That matters here. The Merlot brings ripeness and a velvety feel, while Cabernet Sauvignon adds freshness and drive. In a warm, dry year with an early harvest, this gives the wine a generous side without losing its Médoc energy.
The 37.5 cl half bottle makes it especially useful when you want to open a serious red Bordeaux without committing to a full bottle. At (…)G D'Estournel 2022 Magnum (1,5l)

G D'Estournel 2022 Magnum (1,5l)

G d'Estournel 2022 in magnum is a red Bordeaux from the Médoc, produced by Château Cos d'Estournel. The 1.5-litre bottle gives the wine a different kind of presence: not a separate cuvée, but the same wine in a more generous format, well suited to a table where the bottle is meant to be shared.
The fruit comes from vineyards in the northern part of the Médoc, close to the Gironde estuary. Merlot leads the blend, supported mainly by cabernet sauvignon, with small amounts of cabernet franc and petit verdot. In the 2022 vintage, that means ripe dark fruit and a supple texture, kept in line by freshness and energy associated by the château with this Gironde and Atlantic-influenced location.
At Cos d'Estournel, 2022 was warm, dry (…)Pagodes De Cos 2016 Red

Pagodes De Cos 2016 Red
Very last one in stock!
Pagodes de Cos 2016 is a red Bordeaux from Saint-Estèphe and the second wine of Château Cos d'Estournel. It gives a close view of the château's style, while still being presented as a wine with its own personality. At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of Saint-Estèphe that naturally draws attention from Bordeaux drinkers who appreciate structure, precision and maturity.
The 2016 growing season began mild and wet, before a long warm and dry period shaped the vintage. Château Cos d'Estournel describes the grapes as ripe but not overripe, with freshness preserved. The blend is led by Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, with small proportions of Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc, and 30% new barriques are noted for this release.

Pagodes De Cos 2019 Red

Pagodes de Cos 2019 is a red Bordeaux from Saint-Estèphe, produced by Château Cos d'Estournel. As the estate's second wine, it is described by the château as another interpretation of the Cos d'Estournel terroir, rather than simply a lighter copy of the Grand Vin. The fruit comes from clearly identified estate parcels, with vines averaging around 40 years of age.
The blend is led by cabernet sauvignon, supported by merlot, cabernet franc and a small proportion of petit verdot. In 2019, the growing season brought heat and dryness, but also well-timed rainfall that helped the grapes continue ripening. The château mentions small, concentrated cabernet sauvignon and merlot berries with good phenolic maturity. In the cellar, fermentation was carried out (…)Pagodes De Cos 2020 Red

Pagodes De Cos 2020 Red

Pagodes de Cos 2020 is the second wine of Château Cos d'Estournel in Saint-Estèphe, Médoc. It is not presented simply as a secondary selection: the wine comes from a separate, clearly defined terroir within the estate, with vines averaging around 40 years of age. That gives Pagodes de Cos its own identity alongside the château's grand vin.
The 2020 blend is led by cabernet sauvignon, supported by merlot and smaller proportions of cabernet franc and petit verdot. In the gravity-fed cellar of Cos d'Estournel, Pagodes de Cos is made with an emphasis on fruit expression and supple tannins. For this vintage, ageing included 30% new barriques and a shorter élevage than the grand vin.
The growing season was an early one. Winter rain (…)Pagodes De Cos 2020 Red Demi (37,5cl)

Pagodes De Cos 2020 Red Demi (37,5cl)

Pagodes de Cos 2020 is the second red wine of Château Cos d'Estournel in Saint-Estèphe, although that description does not quite tell the whole story. The estate presents Pagodes de Cos as a wine from its own clearly defined plots within the Cos d'Estournel terroir, with vines averaging around 40 years of age. This demi bottle of 37.5 cl contains the same cuvée, simply in a smaller and very practical format.
The 2020 blend is led by cabernet sauvignon, supported by merlot, cabernet franc and petit verdot. It carries the Saint-Estèphe signature of dark fruit and structure, but in a style that is generally more immediately approachable than the estate's Grand Vin. Part of the ageing took place in new barrels, adding a measured oak influence without (…)Pagodes De Cos 2020 Red Magnum (1,5l) Incl. Box

Pagodes de Cos 2020 in magnum is the second red wine of Château Cos d'Estournel in Saint-Estèphe, yet it has a clear identity of its own. It comes from selected plots within the Cos d'Estournel estate and is intended as a distinct interpretation of that terroir rather than a simple lesser version of the grand vin.
The 2020 blend is led by Cabernet Sauvignon, with Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot adding to the composition. Its maturation included a measured proportion of new barriques, enough to frame the wine without making oak the main story. The château's gravity-fed cellar also underlines the same approach: handling the fruit gently and keeping the tannins as refined as possible.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this magnum stands out as (…)Pagodes De Cos 2022 Red

Pagodes de Cos 2022 is the red second wine of Château Cos d'Estournel in Saint-Estèphe, Médoc, Bordeaux. The blend is 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 49% Merlot and 1% Cabernet Franc, from vines averaging around 40 years of age. Vinification takes place in the gravity-fed cellar at Cos d'Estournel, a method chosen to handle the grapes and young wine as gently as possible. Maturation is shorter than for the Grand Vin, around 10 to 12 months, with a moderate proportion of new oak at about 20%, keeping the fruit expression and freshness clearly in view.

Pagodes de Cos 2022 is a dry red Bordeaux from Saint-Estèphe, produced by Château Cos d'Estournel. It is the estate's second red wine, yet the domaine presents it as its own expression of the Cos d'Estournel terroir, coming from parcels specifically assigned to Pagodes de Cos rather than simply from a general secondary selection.
The 2022 vintage was shaped by heat, drought and several heatwaves, with harvest starting on 7 September, the earliest at the estate since 1989. Old vines of around 40 years on average, deep roots and clay-influenced soils helped preserve freshness in a demanding year. The blend is almost evenly split between cabernet sauvignon and merlot, with a small share of cabernet franc; the cabernet brings energy, while the merlot contributes (…)Pagodes De Cos 2022 Red Magnum (1,5l)
