Clos du Clocher 2021 Magnum takes us to Pomerol on Bordeaux's Right Bank, where the estate's identity is closely linked to the parcels near the church from which it takes its name. This 1.5 litre bottle is a red, dry Pomerol made from 70% merlot and 30% cabernet franc, with grapes grown on the Pomerol plateau in soils described as gravel, clay and blue clay subsoil.For the 2021 vintage, the grapes were hand-harvested, manually sorted and vinified parcel by parcel in small temperature-controlled stainless steel and concrete vats, with part of the wine undergoing integral vinification in barrel. Maturation lasted around 18 months in French oak barriques, roughly half of them new, alongside used barriques, small vats and a small proportion in wineglobes. The estate was officially in organic conversion for this vintage.

Clos Du Clocher is a wine brand from the Bordeaux region in France, specifically originating from the commune of Pomerol. The estate was established at the beginning of the twentieth century and has steadily grown over the years. Clos Du Clocher currently owns a vineyard area of approximately 5.9 hectares and is mainly planted with Merlot, which is characteristic for Pomerol, supplemented with a smaller share of Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. The soil of the estate consists of clay and gravel, which are known in the region for their favorable influence on the ripening of Merlot grapes.
