Mondot 2021 Magnum is a red Saint-Émilion from Château Troplong Mondot, offered here in the generous 1.5 litre format. It is the estate's other cuvée alongside the grand vin, with its origin firmly rooted in Saint-Émilion Grand Cru and in the limestone-influenced parcels associated with the property.The 2021 vintage is made entirely from Merlot. That gives this release a particular point of interest, as the available information indicates that 2021 was the final vintage of Mondot made solely from Merlot before Cabernet Franc entered the blend from 2022 onwards. Château Troplong Mondot is a winery that is located on the distinctive limestone hills of Saint-Émilion, in the heart of Bordeaux, France. The estate has a history dating back to the 18th century and is particularly known for its vineyards, which benefit from a unique location on the highest points of the Saint-Émilion plateau. The name Troplong refers to the family who developed the estate in the 19th century, while Mondot refers to the original part of the property.
