Chateau Troplong Mondot 2010 is a red Bordeaux from Saint-Émilion, produced as the grand vin of Château Troplong Mondot and belonging to the Premier Grand Cru Classé category. It is a Merlot-led blend, supported by Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, from elevated vineyards on clay-limestone soils.
That setting is central to the wine's personality. The deep clay supports the ripeness and density of Merlot, while the limestone is described by the estate as bringing tension and freshness. In the 2010 vintage, the result is a Saint-Émilion with weight, concentration, firm tannic structure and a notably ripe style. At around 16% alcohol, this is a full, powerful right-bank Bordeaux rather than a restrained one.

Chateau Troplong Mondot 2016 is a dry red Bordeaux from Saint-Emilion and the château's first wine. Released as Saint-Émilion Grand Cru and Premier Grand Cru Classé B, it is led by Merlot, with Cabernet Sauvignon and a small proportion of Cabernet Franc completing the blend.
The 2016 vintage shows Troplong Mondot in a ripe, concentrated and firmly structured style. The fruit comes from the château's elevated terroir on the hill of Saint-Emilion, with clay and limestone soils helping to frame the wine's dark fruit depth, power and mineral tension. Harvest took place throughout October, followed by a vinification involving techniques such as pumping over, délestage and pigeage.

Chateau Troplong Mondot 2016 Dubbele Magnum (3l)

Château Troplong Mondot 2016 in double magnum is a Saint-Émilion with real stature. This is the château's grand vin, from Saint-Émilion Grand Cru, and the 2016 vintage is referred to as Premier Grand Cru Classé B. The 3-litre bottle is not a separate cuvée; it is the same wine in a more impressive format, made for occasions where the bottle itself becomes part of the experience.
Merlot forms the heart of the blend, supported by Cabernet Sauvignon and a small proportion of Cabernet Franc. The vineyard sits at the highest point of Saint-Émilion, around 110 metres above sea level, on soils that include clay with flint, asteria limestone and silty clay. That setting helps explain the wine's full, concentrated and firmly structured (…)Chateau Troplong Mondot 2016 Magnum (1,5l)

Château Troplong Mondot 2016 Magnum is the estate's red grand vin from Saint-Émilion Grand Cru in Bordeaux, presented in a 1.5 litre bottle. During this period, the château was classified as Premier Grand Cru Classé. The 2016 blend is led by Merlot, supported by Cabernet Sauvignon and a small proportion of Cabernet Franc.
Troplong Mondot sits at the highest point of the appellation, at around 110 metres, with vineyards on clay, flint, asteriated limestone and loamy clay. That setting helps explain the style described for this vintage: generous, concentrated and powerful, with the structure to develop over a long period. The growing season combined a mild, wet first half with a very warm, dry summer and favourable conditions leading into the October (…)Chateau Troplong Mondot 2019

Château Troplong Mondot 2019 is a red Bordeaux from Saint-Émilion, classified as Premier Grand Cru Classé. As the estate's grand vin, it reflects a vintage with real ripeness and concentration, yet the emphasis here is also on freshness, line and precision.
The blend is led by Merlot, supported by Cabernet Sauvignon and a small share of Cabernet Franc. The fruit comes from Troplong Mondot's estate vineyards on a high hill in Saint-Émilion, where clay over limestone and varied exposures around the slope play an important role. That setting helps explain the wine's combination of dark fruit depth, structure and limestone-driven tension.
Since 2017, the estate has moved towards a more refined style under Aymeric de Gironde and (…)Chateau Troplong Mondot 2020

Château Troplong Mondot 2020 is a dry red Bordeaux from Saint-Émilion Grand Cru, produced as the estate's main wine. It is not the separate Mondot cuvée, but Château Troplong Mondot itself, carrying the Premier Grand Cru Classé status of Saint-Émilion.
The 2020 vintage is built mainly on Merlot, with Cabernet Sauvignon and a small amount of Cabernet Franc completing the blend. The estate sits on a high part of the limestone plateau of Saint-Émilion, with clay, flint, limestone and silty clay over limestone forming the basis of the terroir. In an early, dry year, those deep clay-limestone soils helped retain freshness, a key point in a wine with this level of concentration.

The 2020 blend is led by merlot, with cabernet sauvignon and a small proportion of cabernet franc. Its fruit comes from clay-limestone soils around the hill of Mondot, one of the higher parts of Saint-Émilion. That setting helps explain the way the wine is described: concentrated and structured, yet marked by freshness, firm tannins and a limestone-like mineral line.
The grapes were hand-harvested and fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats. (…)Chateau Troplong Mondot 2021

Chateau Troplong Mondot 2021 is the grand vin of Château Troplong Mondot in Saint-Emilion, on Bordeaux's Right Bank. It is a dry red Bordeaux blend from the Saint-Emilion Grand Cru appellation, commonly referred to as a Premier Grand Cru Classé. For the 2021 vintage, the blend is led by merlot, with cabernet sauvignon and a small proportion of cabernet franc.
The vintage itself gives the wine much of its interest. Bordeaux had a demanding growing season in 2021, but improved conditions in September and October allowed for later selection and picking. It was also the first vintage vinified in the estate's renovated cellar. The approach described for this wine focuses on preserving fruit purity and keeping oak influence measured, with cold maceration, (…)Chateau Troplong Mondot 2021 Demi (37,5cl)

Château Troplong Mondot 2021 Demi is a half bottle of red Bordeaux from Saint-Émilion, drawn from the Grand Vin of Château Troplong Mondot. At 37.5 cl, it is a very useful format when you want to open a serious Saint-Émilion without committing to a full bottle.
The 2021 vintage shows Troplong Mondot in a more precise and tension-driven register. Bordeaux had a cool, demanding growing season, and here that translates into freshness, definition and a clear limestone-influenced structure rather than sheer power. The blend is led by merlot, supported by cabernet sauvignon and a small proportion of cabernet franc.
This vintage also marks an important moment for the estate, as 2021 was the first year vinified entirely in the (…)Chateau Troplong Mondot 2022 Demi (37,5cl)

It is not a separate cuvée, but the same Premier Grand Cru Classé Saint-Émilion Grand Cru in a 37.5 cl format. That smaller bottle size makes it especially appealing when you want to open a serious Saint-Émilion without committing to a full bottle.
The 2022 vintage came from a warm, dry year in Bordeaux, yet Troplong Mondot is noted for keeping tension and freshness alongside its natural concentration. The blend is led by merlot, supported by cabernet sauvignon and a small amount of cabernet franc. Its high hillside vineyard, with clay and limestone soils and varied exposures, gives the wine its sense of depth, aromatic (…)Mondot 2021

Mondot 2021

Mondot 2021 is a red Bordeaux from Saint-Émilion, produced by Château Troplong Mondot as a separate cuvée from the estate. The château presents Mondot as another interpretation of the Troplong Mondot terroir, with a clear focus on limestone-driven parcels.
What makes the 2021 vintage especially noteworthy is its composition: 100% merlot. According to the available vintage information, this was the last Mondot vintage made entirely from merlot before cabernet franc was introduced from 2022 onwards. Maturation in tank and neutral barrels keeps new oak out of the foreground, allowing fruit clarity, freshness and limestone expression to take the lead.
Rather than a weighty or heavily oaked Saint-Émilion, Mondot 2021 is described (…)Mondot 2021 Magnum (1,5l)

Mondot 2021 Magnum (1,5l)

Mondot 2021 Magnum is a red Saint-Émilion from Château Troplong Mondot, offered here in the generous 1.5 litre format. It is the estate's other cuvée alongside the grand vin, with its origin firmly rooted in Saint-Émilion Grand Cru and in the limestone-influenced parcels associated with the property.
The 2021 vintage is made entirely from Merlot. That gives this release a particular point of interest, as the available information indicates that 2021 was the final vintage of Mondot made solely from Merlot before Cabernet Franc entered the blend from 2022 onwards. The fruit comes from selected limestone-rich plots, including the Saint-Émilion limestone plateau.
Maturation took place without new oak, using tank and previously (…)Mondot De Chateau Troplong Mondot 2019

Mondot de Château Troplong Mondot 2019 is a red Saint-Émilion Grand Cru from Bordeaux with its own clear identity alongside the estate's grand vin. It is not described as a conventional second wine made only from declassified lots; this vintage comes largely from its own set of parcels, giving Mondot a distinct limestone-driven character.
Made from 100% Merlot, the grapes come from limestone-rich sites, including parcels on the limestone plateau of Saint-Émilion. The winemaking is designed to keep the emphasis on fruit purity, freshness and tension: a significant proportion was handled in tank, with the remainder raised in used barrels. There is no reliance on new oak as the main voice of the wine.

Mondot De Chateau Troplong Mondot 2019 Magnum (1,5l)

Mondot de Chateau Troplong Mondot 2019 shows a distinct side of Saint-Emilion. It is the other wine of Chateau Troplong Mondot, from Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, yet the 2019 vintage has a clear identity of its own: 100% Merlot from limestone-rich parcels on the Saint-Emilion plateau, including plots from the former Clos La Barde.
What makes this release particularly engaging is the way it is tied to its own vineyard origin. The available information points to a wine drawn from a dedicated set of predominantly limestone parcels, rather than simply declassified fruit from the grand vin. That helps explain the recurring impression of freshness, tension and chalky grip in the tasting descriptions.
Maturation is deliberately restrained, with 40% in stainless steel (…)
