Domaine de Chevalier 2022 Blanc is a dry white Bordeaux from Pessac-Léognan, produced by a Grand Cru Classé de Graves estate. The 2022 blend is led by sauvignon blanc with sémillon bringing extra breadth and texture, so the wine is built around freshness and precision without feeling narrow.The vintage was demanding. A dry, warm summer and several heatwaves meant that decisions in the vineyard and cellar mattered greatly. The estate points to its cooler terroir, old vines and the surrounding woodland in Léognan as important elements in preserving balance. The grapes were hand-harvested in small crates, in several passes according to ripeness, followed by barrel fermentation and 16 to 18 months of ageing, around one third in new oak.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of white Bordeaux we like to present as more than a young, energetic bottle. Its concentration, acidity, barrel ageing and sauvignon-sémillon structure are all part of why several critics see a long future for the wine in bottle.
There is also a special story around this release: 2022 marks Olivier Bernard's 40th harvest at the domaine, and the label features a galloping horse inspired by work from Xu Bei Hong. With only limited bottles remaining, it is a particularly compelling vintage for those interested in serious white Pessac-Léognan with ageing potential.

About DOMAINE DE CHEVALIER
Domaine De Chevalier is a well-known wine producer from the French region of Bordeaux, specifically located in Pessac-Léognan, an area that falls within the Graves appellation. The estate has existed since the nineteenth century and has developed over the decades into a fixture within Bordeaux, with a strong reputation for both red and white wines. In 1983, the estate was taken over by the Bernard family, who have since made great strides in quality and modernization, without losing sight of the character and traditions of the property. The vineyard covers about 45 hectares, the majority of which is planted with classic Bordeaux grapes such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot and for the white wines Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon.
