Château Calon Ségur 2021 in demi format is a half bottle of a serious Saint-Estèphe: the grand vin of Château Calon Ségur, a Troisième Grand Cru Classé from the 1855 classification. The 37.5 cl size does not change the wine itself, but it does make this Bordeaux easier to approach when a full bottle is more than you need.The 2021 blend is led very clearly by Cabernet Sauvignon, supported by Cabernet Franc, Merlot and a small share of Petit Verdot. The grapes were hand-harvested and carefully selected before maturation in new French barriques.

About CH CALON SEGUR
Château Calon Sëgur is a historic winery from the French Bordeaux region and belongs to the renowned appellation Saint-Estèphe in the Médoc. The estate has a rich history dating back to the 12th century, with the name Calon referring to an old type of boat used to transport wood along the river. The current castle and wine estate became especially famous under the Sëgur family, who were in charge in the 18th century and were also responsible for other major Bordeaux names. Château Calon Sëgur was classified as Troisième Grand Cru Classé in 1855, meaning that since then it has been recognized as one of the third growths of the region. The vineyards cover approximately 55 hectares, with mainly the grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and a small percentage of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The wines of Calon Sëgur are known for their combination of power and elegance, with a strong character typical of Saint-Estèphe, but with remarkable finesse and aging potential. Today, the château is still highly regarded among Bordeaux enthusiasts and, besides the Grand Vin, also offers a second wine, Le Marquis de Calon Sëgur.
