Chateau Calon Segur 2020

Château Calon Ségur 2020 is the grand vin of the Saint-Estèphe estate in the Médoc, carrying the 1855 classification of Troisième Grand Cru Classé. It is very much a Cabernet Sauvignon-led Bordeaux, shaped by a vintage that required careful work both in the vineyard and in the cellar.
The 2020 blend is built around Cabernet Sauvignon, with Merlot, Cabernet Franc and a small touch of Petit Verdot. The grapes were hand-harvested and carefully selected, first in the vineyard and then again before vinification. Fermentation took place in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats, followed by around 20 months of maturation in new French oak barriques.
The year brought warmth, drought and some difficult moments, yet the (…)Chateau Calon Segur 2021 Demi (37,5cl)

Chateau Calon Segur 2021 Demi (37,5cl)
In stock
Château Calon Ségur 2021 in demi format is a half bottle of a serious Saint-Estèphe: the grand vin of Château Calon Ségur, a Troisième Grand Cru Classé from the 1855 classification. The 37.5 cl size does not change the wine itself, but it does make this Bordeaux easier to approach when a full bottle is more than you need.
The 2021 blend is led very clearly by Cabernet Sauvignon, supported by Cabernet Franc, Merlot and a small share of Petit Verdot. Its Saint-Estèphe origin matters here: gravel deposits over a predominantly clay-based subsoil help frame the structured, Cabernet-driven style. The grapes were hand-harvested and carefully selected before maturation in new French barriques.

Château Calon Ségur 2021 is the grand vin of the estate, from Saint-Estèphe in the Médoc. As a Troisième Grand Cru Classé from the 1855 classification, it sits firmly in the tradition of left bank Bordeaux, with Cabernet Sauvignon at the heart of the wine. In 2021 the blend is led by 81% Cabernet Sauvignon, supported by Cabernet Franc, Merlot and a small proportion of Petit Verdot.
The estate describes 2021 as a classic Bordeaux vintage, shaped by moderate alcohol, fresh acidity and elegant tannins. The grapes were harvested by hand and carefully sorted, followed by vinification in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks and 20 months of ageing in new oak barrels.

Chateau Calon Segur 2021 Magnum (1,5l)
On request only
Château Calon Ségur 2021 Magnum is the grand vin of Château Calon Ségur in Saint-Estèphe, Médoc. The 1.5-litre bottle is not a separate cuvée, but the estate's main wine in magnum format: a dry red Bordeaux from a property classified as a Troisième Grand Cru Classé in 1855.
The château describes 2021 as a classically styled Bordeaux vintage, marked by moderate alcohol, clear freshness and elegant tannins. Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc set the tone of the blend, supported by Merlot and a small proportion of Petit Verdot. That emphasis fits the Calon Ségur vineyard, where deep gravel over mainly clay soils helps shape the structure and Cabernet-driven identity of the wine.

Le C De Calon Segur 2021

Le C de Calon Ségur 2021 is the third wine of Château Calon Ségur, from Saint-Estèphe in Bordeaux. The name Le C has been used since the 2019 vintage and refers to Calon, to its position as the estate's third label, and to the heart associated with the château.
The 2021 blend is 58% merlot and 42% cabernet sauvignon, sourced from younger vines on the estate. It stays within the same Calon Ségur world, yet speaks in a more direct, fruit-led way than the château's first wine. The grapes are hand-harvested, carefully sorted and vinified in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks.
Around 14 months of ageing in three-year-old barrels gives support without pushing the oak to the foreground. At Drankenshop (…)Marquis De Calon Segur 2019

Marquis De Calon Segur 2019
Not available for shipping
Marquis de Calon Ségur 2019 is the second wine of Château Calon Ségur in Saint-Estèphe, made on the same estate as the grand vin of this 1855 Third Growth. It shows another side of Calon Ségur: still firmly rooted in the structure of Saint-Estèphe, but presented in a more approachable and supple style.
The 2019 vintage was warm and dry, with healthy grapes and good ripeness. Cabernet sauvignon leads the blend, supported by merlot and a small proportion of cabernet franc. For this vintage, the vines used for the wine had an average age of 20 years, growing on gravel with underlying tertiary clay and a thin layer of lacustrine clay.
The grapes were harvested by hand, vinified in temperature-controlled stainless steel (…)Marquis De Calon Segur 2020

Marquis de Calon Ségur 2020 is the second wine of Château Calon Ségur in Saint-Estèphe, yet it is treated as a wine with its own identity. The parcels are selected separately from the beginning, giving this Bordeaux a distinct expression of the Calon terroir in the northern Médoc.
The 2020 blend brings together Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and a small proportion of Petit Verdot. That gives it a slightly different stance from the grand vin, which is generally more Cabernet-led. The warm, dry growing season and relatively low yield show through in the wine's ripe concentration, while the Saint-Estèphe structure remains very much present.
Careful hand harvesting, sorting in the vineyard and after destemming, (…)Marquis De Calon Segur 2021

Marquis De Calon Segur 2021

Marquis De Calon Segur 2021 is the second wine of Château Calon Segur from Saint-Estèphe in Bordeaux. For this vintage, the blend is led by merlot, with 58% merlot and 42% cabernet sauvignon, giving the wine a fruit-driven expression while keeping the firm, classic frame associated with its appellation.
The 2021 vintage in Saint-Estèphe was cooler and more demanding than warmer Bordeaux years, making selection especially important. The grapes were hand-harvested, checked first in the vineyard and then sorted again by hand. That careful approach is reflected in the style described for this wine: fresh, lively and structured without feeling heavy.
Fermentation took place in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats, followed by 17 months (…)
