Chateau Montviel 2019

Château Montviel 2019 is a red Pomerol led by Merlot, with Cabernet Franc adding its own contribution to the blend. It has the familiar Right Bank Bordeaux feel: ripe dark fruit, generous depth and a structure that gives the wine shape rather than simple weight.
The estate covers around 10 hectares of vineyard, spread across several parcels within the Pomerol appellation. That parcel diversity brings together sandy, gravelly, clay and fine gravel soils. For the 2019 vintage, the wine spent 18 months in new French oak barrels. The same year also saw the château install thermoregulated concrete vats and equipment designed to handle the harvest at lower temperatures, allowing more control over maceration and extraction.

Chateau Montviel 2020

Château Montviel 2020 is a dry red Pomerol from Bordeaux's Right Bank, led by Merlot with Cabernet Franc playing a supporting role. It comes from a property of around 10 hectares, connected to the Péré-Vergé/Parent family, and represents the château's main wine rather than its second label.
There is a clear sense of selection behind this vintage. The grapes were hand-harvested, with cluster thinning in July and further sorting during ripening to encourage even maturity. In the cellar, the wine underwent a 12-day cold pre-fermentation phase in concrete vats, fermentation in concrete, and 16 months of ageing in barrique, with a substantial proportion of new oak. The result is a Pomerol described in a ripe, concentrated style, yet with enough (…)Chateau Montviel 2020 Magnum (1,5l)

Chateau Montviel 2020 Magnum (1,5l)
On request only
Chateau Montviel 2020 in magnum is a red Pomerol with a clear Right Bank identity. Merlot forms the core of the blend, supported by Cabernet Franc, and the fruit comes from parcels spread across the appellation. The result is a Bordeaux built around dark fruit, depth and a discreet spicy lift.
For the 2020 vintage, the wine underwent a cold pre-fermentation phase in concrete vats before ageing for 16 months in barriques. That gives the wine structure and a noticeable but controlled oak influence, while the tasting notes point to freshness, fine to silky tannins and a generous, dense texture.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, a magnum like this has a natural place in the range because it brings more than volume alone: it suits a wine meant for the table, for sharing (…)Chateau Montviel 2021

Chateau Montviel 2021

Château Montviel 2021 is a red Pomerol from Bordeaux and represents the château's first wine, not the second wine La Rose Montviel. The blend is led by Merlot with Cabernet Franc in support, reflecting the estate's vineyard profile and its focus on parcel selection for the main label.
Montviel draws on a spread of sites across the Pomerol appellation. The estate is described as bringing together twenty parcels, with soils ranging from clay-gravel to fine sandy gravel and plots with small stones. That variety is part of what gives this wine its sense of place within Pomerol.
The modern story of the estate began with Catherine Péré-Vergé's purchase in 1985, followed by extensive renovation of the winery, cellar, estate buildings (…)Chateau Montviel 2021 Dubbele Magnum (3l)

Château Montviel 2021 in double magnum immediately feels like a bottle with a sense of occasion. At 3 litres, it is the same Château Montviel wine, but in a format made for a generous table and a carefully chosen moment. Within the Drankenshop Broekmans range, this is the kind of Pomerol that stands out through its scale as much as through its origin.
The wine comes from Pomerol and is based mainly on Merlot, with Cabernet Franc playing a supporting role. Château Montviel describes its estate as a reflection of several terroirs within the appellation, with plots spread across different parts of Pomerol.
For the 2021 vintage, the producer's work focuses on preserving fruit without pushing extraction too far. Thermoregulated concrete vats, the (…)Chateau Montviel 2021 Magnum (1,5l)

Château Montviel 2021 Magnum is a red Pomerol from Bordeaux, made from 80% merlot and 20% cabernet franc. In the 1.5 litre magnum format, it immediately feels like a wine for the table: a bottle with presence, suited to a generous meal or a moment where one bottle needs to carry the occasion.
Montviel works with parcels across the Pomerol appellation, including clay-gravel and fine gravel soils. The estate's first wine is selected from its best parcels, while a significant part of production goes into the second wine, La Rose Montviel. That gives this cuvée a clear position within the estate: the wine where Montviel brings together its strongest selection of fruit.
After Catherine Péré-Vergé acquired the château in (…)
