Promontory 2015 is a dry red wine from Napa Valley, made at the Promontory estate in the western hills of Oakville. Specialist sources describe it as Cabernet Sauvignon or Cabernet Sauvignon-based, yet the real emphasis here is the site itself: a secluded, rugged landscape where vineyard parcels sit among woodland, brush and open rangeland.
The 2015 vintage was shaped by tension in the growing season. A dry and unusually warm winter was followed by cooler weather during flowering, reducing fruit set, and late-summer heat brought further pressure. Picking began early, on 8 September, but Promontory's cooler microclimate stretched the harvest over roughly four weeks.
