    Chateau Barbier 2016 is a sweet white wine from Sauternes, made from 100% Sémillon. It belongs to the Bordeaux tradition of wines shaped by patience in the vineyard: overripe grapes concentrated by noble rot are picked by hand in several successive passes, following the development of Botrytis cinerea.

    Its origin is Fargues, in the south-eastern part of the Sauternes appellation, on clay-gravel soils near Château du Mouret. Château Barbier forms part of the Médeville family's vineyard holdings, a Bordeaux wine family active since 1826, with estates on both banks of the Garonne. Within that portfolio, this is their Sauternes wine.
