Château Potensac 2022 is a red Bordeaux from the Médoc with a clear Left Bank signature. Cabernet Sauvignon leads the blend, supported by Merlot, Cabernet Franc and a small proportion of Petit Verdot. This is the estate's grand vin, drawn from vineyards near Ordonnac, where limestone, clay-gravel ridges and a high proportion of gravel shape a wine built around structure and freshness.
The 2022 vintage at Potensac produced small, concentrated grapes while retaining freshness. That helps explain the style described in the tasting notes: deep, firm and compact, yet with enough lift to keep the wine from feeling heavy. Château Potensac 2022 Magnum is a red Bordeaux from the AOC Médoc, produced by the Delon family estate near Ordonnac, north of Saint-Estèphe. The 1.5-litre magnum is not a separate cuvée, but the estate's grand vin in a larger format, giving this Médoc a little more presence when opened for the table or kept for further ageing.
The 2022 vintage was warm and dry, producing small, concentrated berries that the estate describes as retaining freshness. Cabernet Sauvignon leads the blend, supported by Merlot, Cabernet Franc and a small share of Petit Verdot. The result is very much in the Potensac idiom: structured Médoc, dark-fruited, savoury and firm, rather than a wine built around overt sweetness.
