Frank Phelan 2020 is the second wine of Ch Phelan Segur in Saint-Estèphe, a red Bordeaux that shows another side of the same estate. It is named after Frank Phelan, son of Bernard Phelan, the founder of the domaine, and has been made alongside the grand vin since 1986.
The 2020 vintage is composed of 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon. The fruit comes from the Ch Phelan Segur terroir, with clay and gravel soils over a limestone subsoil. The second wine is made with the same care as the main wine, while the selection brings out a rounder and more immediately approachable expression of Saint-Estèphe.

Chateau Phelan Segur 2020 is the estate's Grand Vin from Saint-Estèphe, in Bordeaux's Médoc. The vineyards lie on clay and gravel soils across the slopes and plateaus of the appellation, and that setting is very much reflected in the wine: structured, fresh, concentrated and firmly rooted in the Saint-Estèphe style.
The 2020 vintage is noteworthy for the château because it is the first Grand Vin to include all four of the estate's grape varieties. The blend brings together Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Cabernet Sauvignon provides the frame, Merlot adds roundness, Cabernet Franc contributes floral finesse, and Petit Verdot brings an extra spicy dimension.

Chateau Phelan Segur 2021 is the Grand Vin of this Saint-Estèphe estate in the Médoc. It is a dry red Bordeaux with a distinctly Cabernet-led blend: 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 21% Merlot and 4% Petit Verdot. According to the estate information, this was the highest proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon used in the wine up to that point, giving the 2021 a firm, classical line.
The grapes come from Chateau Phelan Segur's 70 hectares of vineyards, planted on clay and gravel soils close to the Gironde. The 2021 vintage was a demanding one in Saint-Estèphe, marked by changing weather conditions and low yields. In that context, the careful work becomes especially relevant: hand harvesting, several stages of sorting and lot-by-lot vinification.

Château Phélan Ségur 2022 is the grand vin of this Saint-Estèphe estate in the Médoc. The vintage has a clear 2022 signature: a dry winter, early budbreak, a hot and dry summer, and small berries at harvest with notable concentration. The estate's clay and gravel soils, close to the Gironde, were important in helping the vines retain balance through those conditions.
The blend is led by Merlot at 56%, supported by 40% Cabernet Sauvignon and small amounts of Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. That gives the wine a ripe dark-fruited core, while the firm Saint-Estèphe structure remains very much part of the picture. After hand harvesting and careful selection, the wine matured for 18 months in French oak barrels, 55% of them new.

Château Phélan Ségur 2022 is the Grand Vin of the Saint-Estèphe estate in the Médoc. This demi bottle of 37.5 cl gives the same serious Bordeaux identity in a smaller format, useful when the occasion calls for a fine bottle without opening a full 75 cl.
The 2022 vintage brings a very clear stamp of its own. The season was warm and dry, with low yields and small, healthy grapes. The blend is notable for its high proportion of Merlot, supported by Cabernet Sauvignon and small amounts of Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. That makes this release especially interesting within Phélan Ségur: there is the firm Saint-Estèphe frame, but built around a ripe, dark-fruited centre.

Chateau Phelan Segur 2022 Magnum is the Grand Vin of the estate presented in a generous 1.5 litre bottle. It comes from Saint-Estèphe in the Médoc, Bordeaux, and the 2022 vintage gives it a particularly concentrated, structured voice shaped by a hot, dry growing season and low yields.
The blend is 56% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Petit Verdot and 2% Cabernet Franc. That high share of Merlot is one of the notable features of this vintage. Harvest took place from 14 to 26 September, after a year in which small berries and healthy fruit helped define the wine's density.
