Château Pontet-Canet 2020 is a dry red Pauillac from Bordeaux, firmly rooted in the classical Médoc tradition. It is the grand vin of Château Pontet-Canet, a Grand Cru Classé from the 1855 classification in the Cinquième Cru category. The 2020 blend is led by cabernet sauvignon, supported by merlot, cabernet franc and petit verdot.
What gives this vintage its particular interest is the way vineyard detail and ageing choices come together. The estate farms biodynamically and covers around 81 hectares in Pauillac, spread across numerous parcels overlooking the Gironde. Château Pontet-Canet 2020 in magnum is a Pauillac with real presence. This is the grand vin of Château Pontet-Canet, a Fifth Growth from Bordeaux, presented here in the generous 1.5-litre format. At Drankenshop Broekmans, it is the kind of bottle we would introduce through its sense of place: Pauillac, Cabernet Sauvignon at the core, and a château with a strong focus on vineyard work.
The 2020 blend is made from 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc and 4% Petit Verdot. The wine comes from the estate's vineyards in Pauillac, including the Pontet-Canet plateau, where Garonne gravel from the Günz period lies over limestone. Château Pontet-Canet 2021 is the grand vin of Château Pontet-Canet in Pauillac, a red Bordeaux from France's Left Bank and a Fifth Growth in the 1855 classification. The 2021 blend is led by Cabernet Sauvignon, supported by Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, with an alcohol level of 13%.
The estate describes 2021 as an unusual and demanding year. Early budbreak followed a very mild February, frost pressure arrived at the end of March, June brought more rain, and ripening moved slowly after véraison. Even so, the different grape varieties reached maturity in a notably synchronised way, with the harvest running from 24 September to 12 October.

Château Pontet-Canet 2021 Demi is the estate's grand vin presented in a 37.5 cl half bottle. The wine remains firmly rooted in Pauillac, from a historic Bordeaux property classified in 1855 as a Cinquième Grand Cru Classé.
The 2021 vintage was shaped by a demanding growing season, including significant rainfall in June. Careful parcel selection, sorting in the vineyard and cellar, and gentle extraction therefore play an important role in the character of this release. Cabernet Sauvignon leads the blend at 58%, supported by Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc, reflecting the gravelly, well-drained Pauillac terroir of the estate.

Château Pontet-Canet 2022 Demi is the Grand Vin of Château Pontet-Canet in Pauillac, bottled here in the 37.5 cl half-bottle format. Demi refers to the bottle size, not to a different cuvée. This red Bordeaux is a Cinquième Grand Cru Classé from the 1855 classification and is made from 57% cabernet sauvignon, 35% merlot, 4% cabernet franc and 4% petit verdot.
The 2022 vintage was shaped by significant water stress and strong heat waves during the growing season. The château describes the harvested grapes as highly aromatic, with cellar work focused on preserving structure, freshness and natural acidity through early remontage, a few pigeages and long, slow infusions.
