About VALDESPINO
De eerste kiemen van Bodegas Valdespino werden in 1264 gelegd, toen Don Alfonso Valdespino een landgoed in Jerez de la Frontera kreeg van Koning Alonso voor zijn hulp in de strijd tegen de Moren. Intussen is Valdespino hofleverancier van o.a. de Spaanse en Zweedse koninklijke familie. De Pedro Ximenez druiven zijn met de hand geoogst en worden in de zon gedroogd tot ze bijna rozijnen zijn geworden. Hierdoor krijgt El Candado zijn weelderige zoetheid. De sherry rijpt daarna gemiddeld meer dan 10 jaar onder oxidatieve veroudering. El Candado heeft een intense mahoniekleur met aroma's van gedroogd fruit (rozijnen en vijgen) en subtiele tonen van gebrande koffiebonen, mokka en zoete drop. Fluweelzacht van smaak met een lange, zijdezachte afdronk. El Candado dankt zijn naam aan het Spaanse woord voor hangslot en elke fles was ermee verzegeld.
