Product info about Sena 2020 Magnum (1,5l)
Sena 2020 Magnum is a dry red wine from Chile's Aconcagua Valley, shaped by a Bordeaux-inspired blend yet clearly rooted in its Chilean setting. The fruit comes from Sena's own vineyard near Ocoa, around 40 kilometres from the Pacific Ocean, where biodynamic principles are used and the vines grow on well-draining gravel and rocky soils of volcanic and colluvial origin.The 2020 blend is led by Cabernet Sauvignon, with Malbec, Carmenere and Petit Verdot completing the composition. Cabernet gives the wine its framework, while Carmenere brings a distinctly Chilean accent. The vintage was warm and early, though cooler Pacific influence in February helped preserve acidity and aromatic detail before temperatures rose again in March.
Fermentation took place mainly in stainless steel, with a smaller part in concrete eggs, followed by 22 months of ageing, mostly in French oak barrels and partly in large foudres. That combination supports the wine's depth and structure while keeping the focus on fruit, spice and savoury nuance.
