Rocas De Sena 2020

Rocas de Sena 2020 is the first vintage released of this second wine from Sena in Chile's Aconcagua Valley. It shows the estate from a different angle, with Malbec at the centre of the blend alongside Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache and Petit Verdot. The use of Syrah and Grenache gives it a more Mediterranean accent than the main Sena wine, while still remaining firmly rooted in Aconcagua.
Its name points to the rocky landscape behind the wine. Volcanic stones, well-drained soils and a vineyard site around 40 kilometres from the Pacific Ocean all play a part in its identity. The vineyard is farmed according to biodynamic principles, and the 2020 season was warm and early. That warmth brought ripeness and concentration, while cooler Pacific influences helped retain (…)Rocas De Sena 2021

Rocas De Sena 2021 is a dry red wine from Chile's Aconcagua Valley and the second wine of Sena. It comes from selected parcels of the Sena vineyard, in a setting known for rocky soils and large volcanic stones. That landscape is part of the wine's identity, and it is reflected directly in the name Rocas.
The 2021 blend brings together Malbec, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache, Petit Verdot and Mourvèdre. Compared with the main Sena wine, Rocas De Sena gives more room to Mediterranean varieties alongside the classic structure of Cabernet and Malbec. It feels like a distinct interpretation of the same vineyard environment rather than a simple second label.
The growing season in 2021 was moderately cool, allowing the grapes to ripen slowly and evenly. (…)Sena 2010

Sena 2010
Only 2 left in stock!
Sena 2010 is a dry red wine from Chile's Aconcagua Valley, sourced from Seña's own hillside vineyard in Ocoa. Its Bordeaux inspiration is clear, yet the presence of Carmenere gives the blend a distinctly Chilean accent alongside Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.
The vineyard setting is central to the wine's personality. The vines grow on north-east facing slopes at roughly 290 to 500 metres above sea level, around 41 kilometres from the Pacific Ocean. That position brings cooling influence and day-night temperature variation, factors linked to colour intensity, ripeness and the preservation of acidity.
The 2010 vintage was moderately cool and dry, with low yields and healthy fruit. Grapes were picked by hand in the morning, (…)Sena 2019

Sena 2019

Sena 2019 is a red wine from Chile's Aconcagua Valley, built with a Bordeaux-inspired idea but shaped by a clearly Chilean identity. Cabernet Sauvignon forms the core of the blend, supported by Malbec, Carmenere and Petit Verdot. The Carmenere matters here: it gives the wine a distinctly Chilean voice rather than making it feel like a straightforward Bordeaux imitation.
The 2019 vintage is also the 25th anniversary release of Sena. The grapes come from vineyards farmed according to biodynamic principles. While Chile as a whole experienced a warm year, the Sena vineyard saw a cooler than average summer, helped by its proximity to the sea and the influence of coastal winds. That slower ripening period helped preserve fruit intensity and freshness while allowing the tannins to (…)Sena 2019 Dubbele Magnum (3l)

Sena 2019 Dubbele Magnum (3l)
On request only
Sena 2019 in double magnum is not a separate cuvée, but the same Chilean red wine presented in a striking 3-litre format. That size suits the wine's sense of occasion: 2019 is the 25th vintage of Sena, grown in Ocoa in the Aconcagua Valley, on well-draining stony and gravelly soils of volcanic and colluvial origin, around 40 kilometres from the Pacific Ocean.
The wine takes its inspiration from Bordeaux, yet the identity remains clearly Chilean. Cabernet Sauvignon leads the blend at 60%, supported by Malbec, Carmenere and Petit Verdot. Carmenere is an important part of the Chilean signature here. The vineyard is farmed according to biodynamic principles, and in 2019 the coastal influence was especially important: although Chile experienced a warm year overall, the (…)Sena 2020

Sena 2020 is a Chilean red wine from the Aconcagua Valley, shaped in a Bordeaux-inspired style but with a clear Chilean signature. Cabernet Sauvignon leads the blend, supported by Malbec, Carmenere and Petit Verdot, with the Carmenere adding a distinctive sense of origin.
The wine comes from the Seña Hillside Vineyard, a biodynamically farmed site around 40 to 41 kilometres from the Pacific Ocean. The 2020 vintage was warm and early, yet cooler Pacific influences in February helped preserve acidity and aromatic detail according to the producer. That gives the vintage its particular tension: ripe, concentrated and powerful, but still carried by freshness.
After hand harvesting and selection, the wine matured for 22 months, mainly in French oak barrels (…)Sena 2020 Demi (37,5cl)

Sena 2020 Demi (37,5cl)

Sena 2020 Demi is the 37.5 cl half-bottle version of a serious red wine from Chile's Aconcagua Valley. It is a useful format when you want the depth of a full-scale wine without opening a full bottle, especially around a carefully chosen meal.
The wine is Bordeaux-inspired in style, built around Cabernet Sauvignon with Malbec, Carmenere and Petit Verdot. Carmenere gives the blend a distinctly Chilean accent. The fruit comes from the biodynamically farmed Sena vineyard, a hillside site around 40 kilometres from the Pacific Ocean, where maritime influence helps retain freshness during ripening.
The 2020 vintage was warm and early, giving the wine concentration, power and richness while still preserving aromatic lift and freshness. Maturation lasted 22 months, (…)Sena 2020 Magnum (1,5l)

Sena 2020 Magnum is a dry red wine from Chile's Aconcagua Valley, shaped by a Bordeaux-inspired blend yet clearly rooted in its Chilean setting. The fruit comes from Sena's own vineyard near Ocoa, around 40 kilometres from the Pacific Ocean, where biodynamic principles are used and the vines grow on well-draining gravel and rocky soils of volcanic and colluvial origin.
The 2020 blend is led by Cabernet Sauvignon, with Malbec, Carmenere and Petit Verdot completing the composition. Cabernet gives the wine its framework, while Carmenere brings a distinctly Chilean accent. The vintage was warm and early, though cooler Pacific influence in February helped preserve acidity and aromatic detail before temperatures rose again in March.

Sena 2021 is a Chilean red wine from the Aconcagua Valley, shaped by a Bordeaux-inspired idea but unmistakably rooted in Chile. Cabernet Sauvignon leads the blend, with Malbec, Carmenere and Petit Verdot adding depth and definition. The Carmenere is especially important here, giving the wine a distinctly Chilean accent within a classic-style red blend.
The fruit comes from Sena's own 42-hectare hillside vineyard in Ocoa, around 40 kilometres from the Pacific Ocean. Stony, gravelly soils, biodynamic farming and the cooling influence of the Pacific and the Humboldt Current all help define the wine's character. The 2021 vintage was moderately cool, with slow and even ripening, bringing together structure, freshness and precision.
