Flavour notes
The colour is deep dark red, almost black at the core. Aromatically it combines floral notes with a strong dark-fruit centre: black cherry, cassis, blueberry, blackberry, blackcurrant and plum, followed by pepper, vanilla spice, tobacco, graphite, wet stone, earth, smoke, cedar, liquorice and a touch of orange peel.On the palate it is concentrated and dense, with fleshy, fine-grained tannins and restrained power. The fruit remains fresh, the structure is firm yet polished, and the finish carries length, tension and mineral, earthy detail.

Product info about Domaine De Chevalier 2020 Red Magnum (1,5l)
Domaine de Chevalier 2020 Rouge Magnum is the red grand vin of Domaine de Chevalier in Léognan, within Bordeaux's Pessac-Léognan appellation. This dry red wine is classified as a Grand Cru Classé de Graves and comes here in the generous 1.5-litre magnum format. The 2020 vintage is central to the wine's personality. The estate describes it as an early, sunny and warm year, with a wet spring, a hot dry July and a dry September marked by wide day-to-night temperature differences. That combination brought concentration while helping retain freshness. The blend is led by cabernet sauvignon at 55%, supported by 35% merlot, 5% petit verdot and 5% cabernet franc, from the estate's red vineyards on gravelly soils with a clay-gravel subsoil.
Everything points to a carefully built Pessac-Léognan: hand harvesting in small crates, selection in the vineyard and cellar, optical sorting after destemming, and parcel-by-parcel vinification in a range of vats. Ageing in barriques, around one third new oak, gives the wine structure and polish while keeping the dark fruit at the centre.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this magnum has a clear place for customers looking for a serious Bordeaux with depth, freshness and ageing potential. With only the last bottles available, the larger format adds an extra sense of occasion to an already highly regarded vintage.
