Domaine Charlopin Tissier Pernand Vergelesses 1er Cru Sous Fretille 2021 is a white Burgundy that is very much about place. The Chardonnay comes from the Premier Cru climat Sous Frîtille, set high above the village of Pernand-Vergelesses on shallow, stony limestone-marl soils. Its position near Corton-Charlemagne helps frame the wine's citrus clarity, saline line and chalky expression.The domaine is a relatively young Burgundy estate, founded in 2013 by Yann Charlopin and Justine Tissier in Morey-Saint-Denis. Their holding in Sous Frîtille is small, noted at around 0.11 hectares, so within the Burgundy selection at Drankenshop Broekmans this is a wine with a naturally limited presence and strong interest from customers who follow terroir-driven Chardonnay.
The grapes are harvested by hand and carefully sorted. Maturation takes place for 12 months in barrel, with a restrained proportion of new oak.
