Fermentation took place in stainless steel and concrete, followed by 30 months in Slavonian oak casks and a further 18 months in bottle. Poggio Antico is a wine estate located in the heart of Tuscany, near the town of Montalcino. The estate focuses on the production of mainly Brunello di Montalcino and Rosso di Montalcino, two renowned Italian red wines made from 100% Sangiovese grapes. Poggio Antico has vineyards situated at about 450 meters above sea level, which contributes to a favorable microclimate and a slow, balanced ripening of the grapes. Since its founding in the 1970s, the winery has developed into an established name within the region, especially because of the careful selection of grapes and the preservation of traditional production methods.
