Château Haut-Bailly 2005 is the grand vin of the estate in Léognan, within the Pessac-Léognan appellation. The producer describes 2005 as an exceptional vintage, shaped by a dry spring, warm summer days, cool nights and a favourable autumn. Harvesting took place selectively over five weeks, mostly in the morning to avoid the hottest part of the day.
The blend is 58% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% Merlot and 6% Cabernet Franc. That Cabernet-led composition gives the wine its structure, while the ripeness of the vintage brings depth and concentration. It spent 16 months in small oak barriques, 50% of them new, and was bottled unfined and unfiltered according to the vintage information.

The 2020 vintage came from a sharply contrasting growing season. A very wet spring, with frost and mildew pressure, was followed by a warmer than usual and exceptionally dry summer. Rain in August brought relief and helped complete ripening. The château described the grapes as ripe, fruit-driven, sugar-rich and concentrated. Cabernet Sauvignon leads the blend, supported by Merlot, with small portions of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.

Château Haut Bailly 2021 is the estate's Grand Vin from Pessac-Léognan in Graves, presented here in a 37.5 cl half bottle. The smaller format does not change the identity of the wine: this is a dry red Bordeaux blend with Cabernet Sauvignon firmly at its core.
The 2021 vintage was a demanding one at Haut Bailly. A mild, wet winter was followed by early budburst, April frost and a rainy spring with strong disease pressure. From mid-August onwards the weather turned drier and warmer, allowing the fruit to continue ripening before a late harvest. Merlot was picked from 27 September, while the Cabernet parcels came in during early October. Around half of the crop was selected for the Grand Vin.

Chateau Haut Bailly II 2019 is the second wine of Château Haut-Bailly from Pessac-Léognan in Bordeaux. Since the 2018 vintage, the wine has carried the name Haut-Bailly II; before that, it was known as La Parde de Haut-Bailly. It is described by the château as a fully fledged second wine, selected separately from parcels that also supply the grand vin.
The 2019 blend is 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon. That composition says a great deal about the wine: Merlot brings aromatic freshness, roundness and a soft texture, while Cabernet Sauvignon gives support and definition. The 2020 blend is 54% merlot and 46% cabernet sauvignon. It reflects a vintage of strong contrasts, with historic spring rainfall followed by a warmer than normal and exceptionally dry summer. Harvest took place from 9 to 25 September, with grapes described by the estate as ripe, fruity, sugar-rich and concentrated.

The 2021 vintage in Bordeaux was a demanding one, shaped by a cool spring, disease pressure and a later harvest than in warmer years. At Haut-Bailly, the vintage brought soft, fruit-driven Merlot and more firmly structured Cabernet. The final blend is led by 70% Merlot, supported by Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.

The 2021 vintage was far from straightforward. HB Haut Bailly 2022 is the third wine of Château Haut-Bailly, from Pessac-Léognan in Bordeaux. It sits below Château Haut-Bailly and Haut-Bailly II, with a more immediate style intended to be enjoyed earlier.
The 2022 blend combines cabernet sauvignon, merlot, cabernet franc and a small proportion of petit verdot. It comes from the estate's youngest vines, with selected parcels that are not used for the higher cuvées. A shorter period in barrique gives the wine some structure and softness while keeping the focus on fruit.
