Le C des Carmes Haut-Brion 2020 is a red Bordeaux from Pessac-Léognan, made by Château Les Carmes Haut-Brion. Usually positioned as the château's second wine or complementary cuvée, it still carries a strong sense of origin and vintage, especially in a year described by the estate as focused on precision and tannin structure.
The blend is 60% cabernet sauvignon, 39% merlot and 1% petit verdot. The grapes were hand-harvested, left uncrushed, and a portion was vinified as whole bunches. Ageing took place in foudres and oak barrels, with only a limited share of new oak, followed by time in cement vat. That approach keeps the oak in a supporting role rather than letting it dominate the wine.

Château Les Carmes Haut-Brion 2019 is the red Grand Vin of the estate in Pessac-Léognan, Bordeaux. What immediately sets this vintage apart is the strong role of Cabernet Franc: 42% of the blend, alongside Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. That gives the wine a distinctive identity within its appellation, with aromatic detail, freshness and structure playing a central role.
The fruit came from 7.60 hectares of estate vineyards, with vines averaging 42 years of age on gravel over clay-limestone subsoil. Harvesting was carried out entirely by hand between 17 and 29 September. In the cellar, the grapes were not crushed and part of the vinification used whole bunches, followed by a 35-day cuvaison. Ageing lasted 24 months, mainly in new barrels, complemented by (…)Chateau Les Carmes Haut Brion 2019 Demi (37,5cl)

Château Les Carmes Haut-Brion 2019 is the estate's Grand Vin from Pessac-Léognan, offered here in a 37.5 cl half bottle. The demi format is simply the bottle size, not a separate cuvée, making it a practical way to enjoy the same wine in a more intimate setting.
A defining feature of this 2019 release is the prominent role of cabernet franc in the blend, alongside cabernet sauvignon and merlot. The grapes were harvested by hand between 17 and 29 September, from plots rooted in gravel soils over clay and limestone. The château describes the vintage as one of balance for Bordeaux: rich, dense and elegant despite challenging climatic conditions.
Its 24-month maturation adds another layer to the story, with ageing divided between new oak (…)Chateau Les Carmes Haut Brion 2019 Magnum (1,5l)

Chateau Les Carmes Haut Brion 2019 Magnum (1,5l)

Château Les Carmes Haut-Brion 2019 Magnum is a red wine from Pessac-Léognan with a notably individual voice within Bordeaux. Cabernet Franc takes the largest share of the blend, supported by Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. That detail matters here: it brings a floral, herbal freshness to the wine while keeping the structure and depth associated with the appellation.
The 2019 grand vin came from 7.60 hectares of estate vineyard, with vines averaging 42 years of age on gravel soils over clay and limestone. The grapes were hand-harvested, not crushed, and vinified partly with whole bunches. Maturation lasted 24 months, using new barrels, foudres and terracotta jars. The available notes consistently describe a wine of concentration without heaviness, marked by (…)Chateau Les Carmes Haut Brion 2020

Chateau Les Carmes Haut Brion 2020

Château Les Carmes Haut Brion 2020 is the red grand vin of the estate in Pessac-Léognan, Bordeaux. It should be seen apart from Le C des Carmes Haut-Brion, as this is the château's main wine. The 2020 blend is particularly shaped by Cabernet Franc, which accounts for 40%, supported by 34% Cabernet Sauvignon and 26% Merlot.
The fruit came from 7.60 hectares of selected parcels, with vines averaging just over forty years of age. Gravel soils over clay and limestone place it firmly in the Pessac-Léognan tradition. The vintage saw a steady spring followed by warm, dry weather, with a fully manual harvest taking place between 14 and 26 September.
In the cellar, the approach adds another layer to the wine's identity. The grapes were (…)Chateau Les Carmes Haut Brion 2021 Demi (37,5cl)

Chateau Les Carmes Haut Brion 2021 Demi (37,5cl)

Château Les Carmes Haut-Brion 2021 is the red grand vin of this Pessac-Léognan estate on Bordeaux's Left Bank. This 37.5 cl demi-bottle is not a separate cuvée; it is the same wine in a smaller format, useful when you want to open a serious Bordeaux without committing to a full bottle.
The 2021 vintage in Bordeaux was demanding, with difficult vineyard conditions and the need for careful selection. Les Carmes Haut-Brion answered that challenge with a blend led by cabernet franc: 40% cabernet franc, 35% cabernet sauvignon and 25% merlot. The grapes were hand-harvested, vinified with 45% whole bunches and handled gently, with extraction described more in terms of infusion than force.
Ageing lasted 24 months in a combination of new barriques, (…)Chateau Les Carmes Haut Brion 2021 Incl. Box

Château Les Carmes Haut-Brion 2021 is the red grand vin of Château Les Carmes Haut-Brion from Pessac-Léognan, in the Graves area of Bordeaux. It should not be confused with Le C des Carmes Haut-Brion, the estate's other wine; this is the main wine of the château, a dry red Bordeaux blend with a notably strong Cabernet Franc presence.
The 2021 blend is 40% Cabernet Franc, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon and 25% Merlot. That Cabernet Franc component is one of the defining features of Les Carmes Haut-Brion's grand vin. The vintage was cool and demanding, and the estate points to slow ripening, strict sorting and the role of its protected clos and microclimate in achieving ripeness with freshness.
Its production also tells part of the story. The (…)Chateau Les Carmes Haut Brion 2022 Demi (37,5cl)

Château Les Carmes Haut-Brion 2022 Demi is the estate's red grand vin from Pessac-Léognan, offered here in the 37.5 cl half-bottle format. The smaller bottle does not indicate a different cuvée: this is the same dry red Bordeaux from the 2022 vintage, a year that drew notable critical attention for this wine.
Its identity is shaped by the unusually important role of Cabernet Franc in the blend. For 2022, the composition is 40% Cabernet Franc, 34% Cabernet Sauvignon and 26% Merlot. Combined with the use of 70% whole bunches, this gives the wine a style where ripe dark fruit is held in check by floral lift, savoury spice and a clear sense of freshness.
The winemaking underlines that precise approach: uncrushed grapes, a long cuvaison, then (…)Le C Des Carmes Haut-Brion 2019

Le C des Carmes Haut-Brion 2019 is a dry red wine from Pessac-Léognan in Bordeaux, produced by Ch Les Carmes Haut Brion. It comes from the vineyard area used for this cuvée around Martillac, separate from the historic clos of Les Carmes Haut-Brion. That gives the wine its own identity within the estate: clearly rooted in Bordeaux, yet shaped by a distinct parcel story.
The 2019 blend is led by Cabernet Sauvignon, supported by Merlot and a small share of Petit Verdot. The grapes were hand-harvested from late September into early October. Fermentation took place in temperature-controlled stainless steel, wooden and concrete vats, with whole berries and partly whole bunches. Maturation lasted 18 to 24 months, mainly in one-year-old oak barrels and foudres, (…)
