Marolo Barolo Sherry 10y takes Grappa di Barolo into a more mature and contemplative direction. It is made from Nebbiolo from Barolo and spends ten years in wood selected from Spain, previously used for the production of Oloroso Sherry.That cask background is central to the identity of this release. Oloroso is described as dry and intense, with low residual sugar and striking dried fruit notes. At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of grappa we would present to someone looking beyond a straightforward young style, toward something with more time, structure and table potential.
The ageing took place in two 480-litre tonneaux, casks 5.233 and 5.235. After two decades of cask life, they yielded just 1,635 numbered bottles. It is a deliberately limited version of Barolo grappa, created to raise the quality benchmark and broaden the way it can be tasted and paired.
