Flavour notes

The texture is polished, precise and silky, while still carrying real grip and structure. Château Léoville Las Cases 2019 Magnum is the Grand Vin of Léoville du Marquis de Las Cases, from Saint-Julien in the Médoc. In its 1.5 litre magnum format, the wine has the feel of a bottle made for time: a dry, structured red Bordeaux with Cabernet Sauvignon firmly at its centre.The 2019 blend is 79% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc. Its fruit is linked to the historic heart of the former Léoville estate, particularly the Clos Léoville Las Cases near Saint-Julien, towards Pauillac. Gravel-rich soils, gravel-sandy and gravel-clay subsoils, and the influence of the Gironde all help frame a wine of depth, definition and Médoc identity.
The growing season brought a mild end to winter, a cool spring and a dry, warm summer. Before harvest, the vines benefited from water stress and clear day-night temperature differences, supporting full ripeness while retaining acidity. Ageing took place in French barriques, with 90% new oak, in keeping with the scale and structure of this Grand Vin.

Château Lëoville Las Cases is a renowned winery from the Bordeaux region in France, specifically located in the Saint-Julien appellation in the Médoc. The winery has a history dating back to the 17th century and is part of the original Lëoville vineyard, which was split up in the early 19th century.
