Château La Tour Carnet 2021 in magnum is a red Bordeaux from Haut-Médoc with a firmly classical identity. The estate is located in Saint-Laurent-Médoc and is a Quatrième Grand Cru Classé from the 1855 classification. Its medieval tower speaks to the château's long history, while the bottle itself represents the estate's grand vin.The 2021 vintage in Bordeaux was cooler and wetter than the warmer, more generous years, and that shows in the style described for this wine: fresher, leaner and more tightly structured. The blend is 54% merlot and 46% cabernet sauvignon, giving merlot a slight lead while keeping the Cabernet backbone clearly in place.
A lot of care went into the production: hand harvesting in small crates, several stages of sorting, gravity-fed vatting, fermentation in small wooden and concrete vats, and 16 months in barrique with 30% new oak.
