Château Canon La Gaffelière 2022 Demi is the half-bottle format of a red Saint-Émilion Grand Cru from France, from an estate described by the producer as Premier Grand Cru Classé. At 37.5 cl, it is a practical way to open a serious Bordeaux when a full bottle is more than you need.The 2022 blend brings together merlot, cabernet franc and cabernet sauvignon, with a notably strong cabernet presence. The fruit comes from vineyards south of the medieval village of Saint-Émilion, at the foot of the slope, on clay-limestone and clay-sand soils. The estate is organically certified, with 2014 recorded as its first certified organic vintage.
In the cellar, the wine was vinified in wooden vats, with 32 days of cuvaison and extraction by pneumatic pigeage. It then matured for 15 months on fine lees in oak barrels and vats, with 40% new oak.
