Alberelli Di Giodo Bianco 2021 is a white Terre Siciliane IGT wine from Sicily's Etna area. In the hands of Carlo Ferrini and Bianca Ferrini, Carricante is presented with real clarity: high altitude, volcanic soils, northern exposure and stainless-steel ageing rather than oak.
The fruit comes from a tiny 0.40-hectare vineyard, with vines around 50 years old planted at 800 to 900 metres above sea level. Alberelli refers to the traditional alberello training system used in the vineyard. Only 3,000 bottles were produced in 2021, giving this wine a focused, small-scale feel within the Drankenshop Broekmans selection of Italian whites.

Alberelli Di Giodo Bianco 2022 is a white wine from Terre Siciliane, made from Carricante grown in the Etna area. Giodo is the wine project of Carlo Ferrini, and this Bianco is built around clarity of place rather than oak influence. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel, followed by ageing on the lees, with no wood maturation. That keeps the wine precise and fresh, while the lees bring extra texture. Giodo is the wine project of Carlo and Bianca Ferrini, and this wine comes from a small vineyard of around 2 hectares with volcanic soils, northern exposure and old alberello-trained vines. It is made entirely from Nerello Mascalese, from vines with an average age of 80 years, grown at around 950 metres above sea level.
The character of the wine is shaped by altitude, old vines and volcanic ground. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel, followed by extended skin contact, maturation in large oak casks, then further ageing in concrete and bottle. The emphasis is not on heavy oak influence, but on the expression of grape, place and vintage.

Made from 100% Nerello Mascalese and sourced from vines of around 50 to 80 years old, it is less about weight and more about precision, origin and volcanic tension.
The name Alberelli refers to the bush-trained vines. They grow between 560 and 850 metres above sea level, on black pumice volcanic soils, in a landscape also marked by olive and fruit trees. Those details are not decorative; they explain much of the wine's personality, from its lively acidity and defined structure to its mineral undertone.

Giodo Brunello di Montalcino 2018 is a dry red wine from Tuscany's Brunello di Montalcino DOCG, made entirely from Sangiovese. Giodo is Carlo Ferrini's Montalcino project, begun after he purchased his first plot there in 2002. The vineyards are situated around Sant'Angelo in Colle and Sant'Antimo, at roughly 300 metres above sea level, with a south-eastern exposure.
The 2018 vintage was built with patience. Fermentation took place in stainless steel and concrete, followed by a total of 20 days on the skins. Maturation then continued for around 30 months in wooden casks of 500, 700 and 2,500 litres, before a period in cement and further bottle ageing. The result is a Brunello where the oak presence is integrated rather than dominant.

Giodo Brunello di Montalcino 2018 in magnum is a Tuscan red wine with a very clear identity: 100% Sangiovese from Podere Giodo in Montalcino. The 1.5-litre bottle gives the wine a generous table presence, while the wine itself remains the same Brunello di Montalcino DOCG from the 2018 vintage.
Podere Giodo is the personal project of Carlo Ferrini, who acquired his first plot in Montalcino in 2002. The estate is small, around 6 hectares, and its work is strongly focused on Sangiovese, vineyard selection and strict grape selection. For this Brunello, only the best bunches from the estate are used.

Giodo Brunello di Montalcino 2019 is the main Brunello from Podere Giodo, Carlo Ferrini's Montalcino project. It is a Tuscan red wine under the Brunello di Montalcino DOCG designation, made from Sangiovese in line with the appellation's rules.
The wine is linked to a small amphitheatre-like vineyard parcel around La Poderina, at roughly 300 metres altitude, with light, stony soils and views towards Monte Amiata. For this Brunello, Giodo selects only the estate's Sangiovese grapes considered suitable for its longest-maturing wine. That helps explain the style described for the 2019: focused on precision, freshness and structure rather than sheer weight.

Giodo La Quinta 2020 is a Tuscan red with a very clear place within the estate of Carlo and Bianca Ferrini. The name refers to the fifth vineyard planted by Carlo Ferrini at Giodo, near Montalcino, between Sant'Angelo in Colle and Sant'Antimo. At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this as a fine example of how expressive Sangiovese can be beyond the Brunello label.
Made entirely from Sangiovese, the wine comes from 3.5 hectares of vineyard at around 400 metres altitude. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel, followed by twelve months of ageing in large oak casks, tapered oak tanks and cocciopesto amphorae. Further maturation in concrete and time in bottle complete the élevage.

Giodo La Quinta 2022 is a Tuscan red wine with Sangiovese very much at its core. It is made by Podere Giodo, Carlo Ferrini's estate near Montalcino, and is officially named La Quinta Rosso Toscana IGT. The name refers to the fifth Sangiovese vineyard Ferrini planted at Giodo.
Although bottled as Toscana IGT, the wine remains closely connected to the Montalcino area. The 2022 vintage was warm and dry, so the vineyard context matters: sites at around 400 metres, a south-eastern exposure and nearby cooling woods are all mentioned as factors that helped preserve freshness in the grapes.
La Quinta follows its own maturation path after fermentation, partly in large oak casks and partly in cocciopesto amphorae, followed by further resting before release. It (…)
