Green Spot is an Irish pure pot still whiskey built around one of the defining features of the style: the use of unmalted barley. Every whiskey under the Green Spot label is triple distilled, giving it a clearly Irish identity without moving into smoky territory.
Its maturation takes place over 7 to 10 years in bourbon and sherry casks. The particularly interesting point here is the relatively high proportion of sherry cask maturation, something appreciated by drinkers who enjoy fruit, spice and gentle oak influence in their whiskey.

Green Spot Leovillle Barton is an Irish single pot still whiskey shaped by a wine cask finish, while still keeping its Irish identity at the centre. It first matures in Oloroso sherry casks and bourbon casks, before spending a further 12 to 24 months in French oak casks that previously held wine from Château Léoville-Barton.
That extra maturation gives this Green Spot a more layered feel, with wood, spice and fruit playing an important role. The Barton connection also adds a thoughtful link to the story: Anthony Barton was born in Ireland in 1930, so this whiskey brings together Irish pot still tradition and a French wine influence in a very natural way.
