About FRANGELICO
Frangelico is an Italian hazelnut liqueur that originates from the Piemonte region, an area in the north of Italy that is known for its rich hazelnut tradition. The liqueur is made with Tonda Gentile hazelnuts, a variety that is praised for its smooth and aromatic character. For the production of Frangelico, hazelnuts are roasted and combined with, among other things, vanilla and cocoa, after which the mixture is blended with alcohol, sugar, and water. The result is a clear, amber-colored drink with a pronounced hazelnut aroma and a sweet, rounded flavor profile. Frangelico is typically bottled in the distinctive bottle shaped like the silhouette of a monk, which refers to the legend of Brother Angelico, a hermit from the 18th century who is said to have inspired the recipe. Although this monk belongs more to folklore than strict history, it contributes to the atmosphere surrounding the brand. Frangelico is versatile as an ingredient in cocktails, coffee, or desserts, but is also drunk neat or with ice.
