Tenute del Cabreo La Pietra Chardonnay 2023 is a white Toscana IGT with a distinctly Tuscan point of view. Ambrogio e Giovanni Folonari created La Pietra around the idea of vinifying Chardonnay in the Chianti area with an approach more commonly associated with serious Tuscan red wines. The producer describes it as the first white Supertuscan.The Chardonnay comes from Tenuta Casa di Sala in Panzano in Chianti. Fermentation starts in stainless steel and is then moved to wood partway through the process. The wine matures for at least around 24 months in tonneaux before further bottle ageing. That gives this dry white wine structure and depth, while keeping freshness at the centre of its style.
