Flavour notes
Bright pale yellow in colour, with a nose that brings together floral and mineral tones, anise, verbena, lemon and grapefruit. The oak ageing appears gently through a hint of hazelnut, adding support rather than weight. On the palate, the wine has tension and concentration. Citrus and mineral notes come first, then with air it opens towards yellow fruit, white peach, pear and occasional tropical accents. Ginger, fennel and white pepper add fine detail.
The finish is fresh and citrus-driven, with lime leaving the clearest final impression.

Product info about Chateau Suduiraut Vieilles Vignes Grand Vin Blanc Sec 2020
Chateau Suduiraut Vieilles Vignes Grand Vin Blanc Sec 2020 is a dry white Bordeaux with a particularly interesting origin. It comes from Suduiraut's Premier Cru Classé terroir in Sauternes, yet it is made as a dry white wine rather than in the sweet style for which the estate is historically known. The 2020 blend brings together 58% sémillon and 42% sauvignon blanc from selected old-vine parcels, with an average vine age of around 45 years. That old-vine selection gives the wine its focus: a dry Bordeaux blanc shaped by the estate's own terroir rather than a simple aromatic white.
The growing season also left its mark. A wet, early start was followed by warm, dry conditions, while cooler nights towards the end of ripening helped preserve aromatic freshness. Maturation lasted 9 months in French oak barriques, mostly one-wine barrels with only a small proportion of new oak, keeping the wood influence supportive.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this bottle stands out as a dry white Bordeaux with real pedigree: old vines, a precise parcel selection and a measured élevage. With the last bottles now available, the 2020 vintage has an added sense of scarcity without losing its calm, refined character.

About SUDUIRAUT SEC
Suduiraut Sec originates from the French wine region of Bordeaux, specifically from the prestigious Sauternes area. The brand is linked to Chateau Suduiraut, a wine estate that has existed since the seventeenth century and is recognized worldwide mainly for its famous sweet Sauternes wines. Suduiraut Sec is the dry wine variant of this estate, coming from the same vineyards with mainly Sémillon and Sauvignon Blanc grapes. The soils of gravelly sand and clay around the chateau are decisive for the character of the wine, with a focus on freshness and minerality as distinctive features. Great care is taken in the work in the vineyard, with manual harvesting as an important tradition. Suduiraut Sec is usually vinified and aged with attention to precision, which allows the wines to stand out for their elegant, clear style. Thanks to the history and craftsmanship behind the label, Suduiraut Sec has now become a fixture for lovers of dry white Bordeaux wines, alongside the world-famous sweet range of Chateau Suduiraut.
