G De Guiraud 2023 presents the dry white side of Château Guiraud, a Sauternes estate best known for its Premier Grand Cru Classé sweet wine. This bottle stays firmly in Bordeaux, but speaks in a different register: dry, fresh, aromatic and shaped by texture rather than sweetness.The 2023 blend is 60% Sémillon and 40% Sauvignon Blanc. That combination is central to the wine's identity. Sauvignon Blanc gives lift and aromatic clarity, while Sémillon brings a fuller, softer middle. The grapes come from a specific parcel selection for dry white Bordeaux, from vines averaging 25 years of age on soils of sandy gravel, clay, limestone-rich layers and marl.
Half of the fermentation took place in stainless steel, the other half in barriques previously used for the château's Sauternes. The wine then spent around six months on its lees with regular bâtonnage. The oak influence remains discreet; its role is more about shape, texture and depth than obvious flavour.
