Domaine Maurice et Anne-Marie Chapuis Corton Perrières Grand Cru 2020 is a red Burgundy from the Côte de Beaune, drawn from the Les Perrières climat within Corton Grand Cru. Perrières refers to a former quarry, a small but telling detail that places the wine firmly in the language of Burgundy, where a precise hillside parcel can define the entire personality of a bottle.The estate is based in Aloxe-Corton at the foot of the Corton hill. Pierre and Claire Chapuis represent the sixth generation of the family and took over the domaine in 2018 alongside Maurice and Anne-Marie Chapuis. The domaine describes its work in traditional terms, with ageing in French oak barrels and a generally restrained proportion of new oak for red wines.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of Burgundy we like to present when the story of place matters as much as the appellation on the label. The 2020 vintage is noted with a production of 2,500 bottles, and with only the last bottles remaining, it has a quiet sense of rarity.
