Pagodes de Cos 2022 in magnum is a red Bordeaux from Saint-Estèphe, made by Château Cos d'Estournel. It is often described as the estate's second wine, yet the château presents it as a distinct interpretation of its own terroir, drawn from selected parcels within the property.The blend is almost evenly split between Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, with 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 49% Merlot and 1% Cabernet Franc. The vines average around 40 years of age, rooted in a setting where deep gravel, clay and limestone all play their part. The 2022 vintage was shaped by heat, drought and careful management of ripeness, but the estate also points to freshness alongside the wine's volume and maturity.

About CH COS D'ESTOURNEL
Château Cos d'Estournel is a renowned winery from the French Bordeaux region, specifically located in the Saint-Estèphe appellation in the Médoc. The estate was founded in the early 19th century by Louis-Gaspard d'Estournel, who dedicated himself to producing complex and characterful wines exclusively from his own vineyards. Cos d'Estournel is known as a Deuxième Grand Cru Classé since the famous 1855 classification, in which it was counted among the top of the region. The winery covers about 100 hectares and has been expanded and modernized during various periods, but the distinctive Asian-inspired architecture and the impressive gatehouse are still iconic. The wine of Château Cos d'Estournel is traditionally characterized by a high proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon, supplemented by Merlot and occasionally small amounts of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. This results in a powerful, structured wine that ages well and develops complexity over the years. In addition to the Grand Vin, the estate also produces a second wine, Les Pagodes de Cos, which is more accessible in its youth.
