Flavour notes

The wine is described as pale yellow with golden highlights. Aromatically it is expressive, with citrus fruit, white flowers and fresh fruit, supported by notes of ripe lemon, grapefruit, white peach, yellow apple and occasional hints of gooseberry, fennel, verbena and clove.

On the palate, it opens with a lively lemon freshness before broadening into a more aromatic and concentrated structure. The texture is delicate, with the sémillon adding weight and density, while the barrique ageing appears in subtle spicy and lightly toasted accents.

The finish remains fresh and mineral, with a chalky impression and a faint saline edge. It keeps a clear citrus-driven line, but with enough body and texture to feel complete.

Product info about Chateau Latour Martillac Blanc 2019 Magnum (1,5l)

Château Latour-Martillac Blanc 2019 Magnum is a dry white Bordeaux from Pessac-Léognan, produced as the château's white grand vin. It comes from a Graves estate classified as Grand Cru Classé de Graves, and the 1.5 litre format gives the wine a quietly impressive place at the table.

The 2019 blend is 58% sauvignon blanc and 42% sémillon. That combination shapes the wine's identity: sauvignon blanc brings citrus-driven freshness and aromatic lift, while sémillon adds body, density and texture. The grapes were hand-harvested, fermented in barriques and matured for 15 months on the lees, including 10 months in French oak barriques, 25% of them new.

At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of white Bordeaux we like to present to customers who are looking for structure and finesse rather than simple fruitiness. The wine reflects the mineral, fresh side of Pessac-Léognan, but with enough breadth to make it feel complete at the table. The producer indicates an optimal drinking window from 2022 to 2028.

Only limited bottles remain, which is worth noting for a classified white Bordeaux in magnum from a specific vintage. Serve at around 12 to 14 °C; suggested pairings in the supplied information include shrimp risotto, sole à la meunière and stuffed capon.

About CH LATOUR MARTILLAC

Château Latour-Martillac is a wine estate from the Bordeaux region in France, specifically located in the Pessac-Léognan appellation, which is part of the Graves area south of the city of Bordeaux. The château owes its name to a medieval tower that can still be found on the estate, a striking historical feature. Since the beginning of the twentieth century, the estate has been managed by the Kressmann family, who acquired full ownership in 1929. Château Latour-Martillac is best known for its red and white wines, both of which are included among the Crus Classés de Graves according to the 1953 and 1959 classifications. The vineyards consist of a mix of classic Bordeaux grape varieties, such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot for red, and Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon and Muscadelle for white. Modern craftsmanship and respect for tradition are central to the production, with both technology and manual selection methods being used to ensure quality. Thanks in part to its location on the gravel-rich soils of Graves and the region's moderate climate, Château Latour-Martillac develops wines with a balanced and distinctive character, which is appreciated by wine lovers all over the world.
