Château Malescot Saint-Exupéry 2022 is the grand vin of this Margaux estate in Bordeaux, with the standing of a Troisième Grand Cru Classé from the 1855 classification. In this 37 cl bottle, it offers the same wine in a half-bottle format: a thoughtful choice when you want to open a serious Margaux without committing to a full bottle.The 2022 blend is made from 55% cabernet sauvignon, 40% merlot and 5% petit verdot. The grapes were hand-harvested in small crates between 19 September and 5 October, with selection both in the vineyard and in the cellar. Fermentation took place in temperature-controlled stainless-steel and concrete vats, without added selected yeasts, followed by 12 to 14 months on fine lees in barriques, 70% of them new oak.
What gives this vintage its shape is the meeting of ripe dark fruit, freshness and floral detail. The merlot was harvested ripe, while the cabernet sauvignon was given more time to preserve clarity, structure and terroir expression.
