Dom Garrabou Fontvieille 2022 is a dry white wine from France's Languedoc, within AOP Limoux Blanc. Its identity is closely tied to one specific site: La Fontvieille, a small parcel of around 0.75 hectares. With its north to north-east exposure and clay-rich soils with limestone in places, the vineyard gives Chardonnay a cooler setting in which ripeness and freshness can sit side by side.Domaine Garrabou is a family estate in Gardie, near Limoux, with five generations of history behind it. The estate historically supplied grapes to cooperatives, but under Frédéric Garrabou it began bottling its own wines from 2014, with the first estate bottles appearing from the 2016 vintage. Fontvieille belongs to that newer chapter: a single-site Chardonnay shaped by the higher Limoux terroir.
The details in the cellar point to a careful, restrained approach. The grapes are harvested by hand, cold pressed, and fermented at low temperature in wood; for the 2022 vintage, indigenous yeasts are also mentioned. The wine then spends 9 months in wood, with lees stirring guided by tasting. Malolactic fermentation is avoided to retain freshness, and the wine is bottled without fining or filtration.

Domaine Garrabou is a wine estate from southern France, located in the Languedoc region near Limoux. The estate extends over vineyards with a clay-limestone soil, which characteristically contributes to the structure and freshness of their wines. The location in a relatively cool part of the Languedoc, on slopes at the foot of the Pyrenees, provides considerable temperature differences between day and night, which has a positive influence on the development of aromas in the grapes. Domaine Garrabou cultivates, among others, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Chardonnay and Mauzac, resulting in a range that includes red, white and sparkling wines. The style of the estate is characterized by a pursuit of pure and elegant wines, in which the terroir is clearly expressed. Where possible, sustainable principles are applied in the vineyards, with attention to biodiversity and minimal intervention during winemaking. All this results in approachable wines in which the typical characteristics of the area can be clearly tasted.
