Bunnahabhain Staoisha 2013 8y Artist 6 (Signatory - Artist Edition) Incl. Box

Bunnahabhain Staoisha 2013 8y Artist 6 is an Islay single malt with a clear sense of direction: peat, salt and cask-strength intensity. Bottled by Signatory as part of the Artist Edition, it comes at 57.1% ABV and keeps the whisky close to its natural strength.
Maturation in a refill hogshead gives the wood a supporting role rather than the main voice. That leaves room for the peated side of the whisky to come forward, backed by a salty edge and a noticeable spiced character.
With 1281 bottles released and only the last bottles remaining, this edition has a distinct place at Drankenshop Broekmans among independent Islay bottlings for drinkers who appreciate a firm, direct and smoky style.
The flavour is driven first by assertive peat smoke, (…)Octomore 16.3

Octomore 16.3 is an Islay single malt from Bruichladdich with a very direct sense of power. Bottled at cask strength at 61.6% and matured for five years, it presents itself as a whisky built around intensity: peat smoke, coastal salinity and spice form the core of its character.
The bourbon and sherry cask influence gives the whisky a useful frame, while the wood remains a supporting element rather than the main subject. What comes through most clearly is the combination of smoke, salt and spice, carried by the natural strength of the spirit.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, Octomore 16.3 sits firmly among the more assertive Islay single malts. It is a bottle for drinkers who want a whisky with cask-strength impact, a pronounced island identity and a style that (…)Bunnahabhain Staoisha 2019 6y Ww (Campbeltown Whisky Company)

Bunnahabhain Staoisha 2019 6y Ww shows a bold, peated side of Islay single malt. Young in age but far from shy in personality, it was matured in a sherry hogshead, giving the whisky a meeting point between dense smoke and red-fruited richness.
There is a very direct feel to this release. It comes from a single cask, bottled at 57.1% cask strength, so the character is presented with real intensity. The supplied notes point clearly towards smoky barbecue sauce, dry ash, strawberry, raspberry and dark cherry.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of bottling we like to place in front of customers who enjoy peat with a clear sherry influence rather than a soft background accent. With 330 bottles filled and the last bottles now in circulation, it is a limited (…)Octomore 16.2 Tube Incl.

Octomore 16.2 is a Scottish single malt from Bruichladdich on Islay, and at Drankenshop Broekmans it stands out for one clear reason: peat is at the heart of the whisky. The profile is firmly smoky, with a noticeable salty side that gives it a distinctly Islay feel.
Distilled in 2020 and carrying a 5-year age statement, it is bottled at cask strength at 58.1%. That gives the whisky a direct, forceful presence. Wood and spice are there in a supporting role, leaving the focus on the peat-driven and saline character rather than on heavy oak influence.
Octomore 16.2 is therefore best understood as a bold Islay single malt built around intensity, smoke and coastal tension.
The flavour profile is led by peat, with smoke as the dominant impression. A (…)Kilchoman 13y

Kilchoman 13y is a limited edition Islay single malt that speaks clearly of the distillery's hands-on approach. Founded in 2005, Kilchoman is known for its commitment to traditional methods and is among the few Scottish distilleries still working with a traditional malting method.
The maturity here comes from at least 13 years in a combination of bourbon casks, octaves and calvados casks. That cask mix gives the whisky a layered feel, with fruit, sweetness, spice, peat smoke and coastal saltiness all playing a role. It remains unmistakably Islay, but there is more to follow than smoke alone.
For Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of Kilchoman that shows a more developed side of the distillery. Bottled at 50%, it has the strength to carry its fruit, (…)Talisker Skye Incl. Box

Talisker Skye is a Scottish single malt that puts its origin right at the centre of the glass. The name points directly to Skye, and the whisky follows that direction with a clear island-led profile built around saltiness, peat and spice rather than an age statement.
American oak plays a supporting role here. It adds a light wood influence without taking over, allowing the more distinctive elements to stand forward: a salty edge, peated depth, firm spice and a modest fruit note. At 45.8% ABV, Talisker Skye has enough strength to carry that character clearly.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this as a good example of a single malt where place and style matter more than age on the label. It is a whisky for drinkers looking for a recognisably maritime, smoky and (…)Octomore 17.3 Tube Incl.

Octomore 17.3 places the idea of origin right at the centre of the glass. This Islay single malt from Bruichladdich is made with barley from Irene's Field on Octomore Farm, giving this 5-year-old whisky a very direct link to its home on Islay.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of release that stands out through sheer identity: 132.1 PPM, 60.9% alcohol and a profile built around peat smoke, power and tension. Yet the appeal is not only in the intensity. The cask combination of Bourbon, Sauternes, Ribera del Duero, Ice Wine and Syrah brings fruity, sweet and spicy elements into the whisky's forceful structure.

Distilled in 2017 and aged for 5 years, it presents a direct and powerful side of Islay whisky. The profile is strongly peated, with a clear salty dimension running alongside lighter touches of wood, spice and fruit.
For drinkers looking for an Islay single malt built around intensity, smoke and coastal character, Octomore 14.3 speaks with a very clear voice.

Octomore 17.2 takes the same 81 PPM Concerto barley foundation as 17.1, then sends it in a different direction through cask treatment. After bourbon maturation, Port cask influence brings extra fruitiness, sweetness and depth, while the powerful peat smoke remains firmly present.
That is the fascinating part of this Islay single malt: it is not simply about intensity. At 5 years old and 59.5% ABV, it remains a forceful whisky, yet the Port element adds a distinct layer around the smoky core.

Ardbeg Smoketrails 2nd Edition Côte Rôtie is an Islay single malt with a very clear sense of direction: peat, salt and spice are the main threads running through it. As the second edition in the Smoketrails line, the Côte Rôtie reference in the name gives this release its own particular identity.
The character is built around a smoky and maritime core, with spice playing a clear supporting role. Fruit and wood are present more gently, so the whisky keeps its focus on that robust Islay side rather than moving into a sweeter or heavily oaked style. Watt Whisky, bottled by Campbeltown Whisky Company, presented it at cask strength: 57.1%. With only 254 bottles drawn from that one barrel, this is not a broad house-style release, but a focused snapshot of one maturation.

Rather than coming from one single cask, Uigeadail is a vatting of different casks. Ardbeg brings together the deep smoky notes of old American oak bourbon casks with the savoury, raisin-like character of old Oloroso sherry casks. That combination gives the whisky its appeal: intense peat smoke, plenty of weight at 54.2%, and a sweet, dark layer that sits beneath the smoke.
