Smokey Monkey Shoulder brings out the smoky side of Monkey Shoulder in a Scotch blended malt whisky. The name gives a clear indication of its direction: the familiar Monkey Shoulder style, with an added smoky touch rather than an intensely peated character.
There is no age statement here, and the whisky is bottled at 40%. Bourbon cask maturation forms the base, while the flavour profile points towards light fruit, gentle spice, a floral hint and a restrained peat-smoke note. At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this as a whisky for customers who want smoke to be part of the conversation without it taking over the whole glass.

Speyburn Hopkins Reserve 1l is a Speyside single malt with a distinctive peated cask angle. It is not presented as a heavily smoky whisky; rather, the peat sits as a gentle layer alongside light fruit, spice and floral notes.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this bottle stands out as a Speyburn with a slightly different accent. It carries no age statement, so the focus is on the chosen style and the way the peated cask shapes the whisky. Bottled at 46%, it has a little extra weight compared with many lighter everyday single malts.
The one-litre format gives it a generous feel, making Hopkins Reserve a good choice for drinkers who enjoy Speyside single malt but want a touch of smoke without moving into a more forceful peated style. Its character is built around (…)Highland Park 14y Loyalty Of The Wolf 1l Incl. Box

Highland Park 14y Loyalty Of The Wolf is a Scotch single malt from Orkney, bottled at 42.3% and presented here in a generous one-litre format. With 14 years of age, it sits in an appealing middle ground for Highland Park: mature enough to feel developed, without being framed as a heavy or forceful whisky.
The cask background brings together sherry and bourbon influence. Rather than pointing to a strongly wood-led style, the available profile suggests a gentler composition, with light fruit, spice, floral notes and a restrained touch of peat. That makes the whisky feel more about measured detail than one dominant flavour direction.

Belgian Owl New Spirit 50cl shows the whisky at its earliest stage: unaged, direct and centred on the distillate itself. Coming from the distillery at Hameau de Goreux, this Non Aged release takes you back to the grain at the origin of Belgian Owl.
Because there is no wood influence here, the cereal side speaks clearly. Malted barley, warm bread and shortbread come forward first, followed by a fresh fruity line of greengage plums, ripe pears and apple cider. A green, grassy echo adds a lively vegetal touch.
For Drankenshop Broekmans, this is an engaging way to understand Belgian Owl from the inside out: bottled at 46%, without an age statement, and focused on grain, fruit and texture rather than maturation. With the last bottles now in view, it also has a (…)English Whisky Chapter 6

English Whisky Chapter 6 is a single malt from Great Britain, bottled at 46% and drawn from a single bourbon cask. Distilled in February 2007 and bottled in February 2010, it shows the whisky at three years of age: clear in style, compact in scope, and not presented as a heavily wood-driven maturation.
The appeal here lies in the precision of the bottling. One cask gives a very specific view of The English Whisky Co., rather than the broader character of a larger vatting. At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see bottles like this as interesting references for drinkers who enjoy discovering a whisky through a clearly defined release.
