    Numanthia 2017 is a full-blooded red wine from Toro, made entirely from Tinta de Toro, the local Tempranillo variant of this part of Castilla y León. Rather than expressing one single vineyard, it brings together fruit from more than 100 small parcels. That mosaic is central to the identity of the wine: Numanthia is the estate's signature cuvée, built as a broad expression of Toro's old vines and varied terroirs near the Duero.

    The vineyard material is a major part of the story. The grapes come from old, often ungrafted and unirrigated vines, with sources referring to vineyards averaging around 50 years of age and some vines reaching roughly 120 years.
