Mother Messcia Pure Rum (Velier) Incl. Box

Mother Messcia Pure Rum is a white rum with a very particular background. It connects Haiti and Monaco through a project associated with Prince Albert II of Monaco and Luca Gargano, taking inspiration from the 17th-century Monegasque tradition of mesccia while drawing its raw character from the terroir of Saint-Michel-de-l'Attalaye.
It starts with Cristalline sugarcane grown in Haiti by Michel Sajous. The juice undergoes a long fermentation with native yeasts, followed by a first wood-fired distillation. The distillate then travels to Monaco for a second distillation in a Khote still, adding refinement to its sugarcane-driven profile.
In the rum selection at Drankenshop Broekmans, this bottle stands out for the way it brings together agricultural freshness (…)Mhoba Select Release White

Mhoba Select Release White is a South African rum with a direct, energetic personality. Made from sugar cane juice and distilled in a pot still, it keeps the focus firmly on the raw material rather than on wood influence.
At 58% ABV and bottled at cask strength, this white release has real presence. With no age statement, its appeal lies in concentration, immediacy and the expressive side of sugar cane juice rum.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this as a bottle for drinkers who enjoy rum in a more outspoken, less polished style. With the last bottles now in view, this Select Release has an added sense of scarcity without needing any embellishment.

Clairin Le Rocher 2022
Only 2 left in stock!
Clairin Le Rocher 2022 is a Haitian rum with a very distinctive voice. It is made from sugar cane syrup that is brought to the boil, a method used here to preserve the characteristic aromas of the three cane varieties involved.
Its single pot still production and bottling in the Clairin style give it a fresh, vegetal and spicy profile, marked by smoky and roasted notes. Rather than leaning on oak influence, Le Rocher puts the distillate itself at the centre, with the raw aromatic side of the cane clearly in view.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this as a rum for drinkers who enjoy expressive, unconventional spirits. At 50% alcohol, it has enough strength to carry its spice and smoke, while still keeping that lively freshness.

Clairin Communal from Velier presents Haitian sugar cane juice rum in a direct and expressive way. Its interest does not come from an age statement or a strong wood influence, but from the distillate itself: pot still produced, with fruit and spice clearly shaping the profile.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of bottle we see as a good introduction to a different side of rum, away from more familiar molasses-led styles. Clairin Communal keeps the focus on Haiti, sugar cane juice and a straightforward distillation character.
Bottled at 43%, it has enough strength to show its personality without feeling heavy. Light floral and vegetal touches add detail around the fruitier and spicier core, giving the rum a clearly recognisable identity.

Foursquare Veritas is a Barbados rum made from molasses, with its character shaped by a combination of pot still and column distillation. Rather than leaning on an age statement, it presents itself through style, structure and a clear sense of rum identity.
At 47% ABV, Veritas has enough strength to carry its spiced and fruity side with confidence. The sweeter notes remain more restrained, while light floral and vegetal accents add extra definition. At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this as a rum for drinkers who appreciate clarity and presence over heavy wood influence.
It is a bottle that speaks directly: Barbados origin, Foursquare name, and a profile built around expression rather than decoration.

Takamaka Le Clos Series 1 2017 50cl

Takamaka Le Clos Series 1 2017 is the opening release in a collection dedicated to single cask rum. That immediately gives the bottle its focus: one cask, a very small outturn of 321 bottles, and a cask strength presentation at 60%. Nothing about it feels anonymous.
The rum comes from the Seychelles and is made from molasses, with sugarcane grown there forming part of its story. Pot still distillation gives it a more direct, individual style, while maturation under warm and humid conditions took its share: 27% of the original volume was lost along the way.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this as the kind of rum that speaks to people who enjoy limited releases with a clear sense of origin and cask identity. Presented in a handsome box and bottled in a 50cl (…)Papa Rouyo Blanc Le Rejeton

Papa Rouyo Blanc Le Rejeton is a white rum from Guadeloupe made from sugar cane juice and distilled in a pot still. Its focus is very much on the distillate itself rather than on wood influence, giving it a direct and expressive cane-juice identity.
At 56% ABV, this is a firmly built white rum. The main impression is driven by fruit and spice, with lighter floral, sweet and vegetal touches adding detail around the edges. At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this as a bottle for drinkers who want a white rum with real presence and a clear sense of origin.

Planteray Original Dark is a dark rum with a warm, generous style built around ripe fruit, gentle sweetness, spice and a clear touch of wood. At Drankenshop Broekmans, it is the kind of bottle we would point out when someone is looking for a dark rum with flavour and presence, without moving into an overly heavy or overly sweet direction.
Made from molasses and distilled using both pot still and column methods, it brings together roundness and definition. That helps explain the contrast in the glass: fruit and soft sweetness on one side, darker notes of chocolate, tobacco and roasted oak on the other.
As part of the Planteray Blend range, Original Dark keeps its character approachable. The 40% strength gives it enough structure, while caramel and vanilla add (…)Caroni Paradise 2000 #5 (Velier) Incl. Box

Caroni Paradise 2000 #5 is a Trinidad rum built around a very clear idea: one individual cask, long maturation and an uncompromising bottling strength. Distilled in 2000 and bottled in 2023, this 23-year-old Velier release comes from a Bourbon Barrel and was bottled at 67.5%.
The appeal lies in its specificity. As a single cask rum, it is not shaped by blending different barrels into a broader house style; it captures the identity of one cask at one point in time. With only 243 bottles produced, that identity is necessarily limited.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, bottles like this are treated as more than just another aged rum. The cask strength presentation, the small outturn, the collector's item indication and the fact that these are the last bottles all point (…)Takamaka 2018 3y (Habitation Velier)

The 2018 reference and 3-year age statement place it among younger, forceful rums with a defined personality. French Oak maturation adds a measured wood influence, while the stated flavour profile gives more weight to spice and fruit, supported by lighter floral, sweet and vegetal touches.
At 60.8% alcohol, this is a cask strength release rather than a softened bottling. Within the selection at Drankenshop Broekmans, it stands out as a compact and intense look at Takamaka through the lens of (…)Fiji 2014 10y (The Nectar - Daily Dram)

Mhoba Select White Hab is a white rum with a very clear identity. For the first time, Habitation Velier has released a white rum from the Mhoba distillery in South Africa, putting the focus firmly on pure sugar cane juice, fermentation and pot still distillation.
It is made from juice of the local N49 cane variety from the Mpumalanga valley. After wild open-air fermentation, the rum is distilled in artisanal pot stills and bottled at 66.2%. That strength is part of its personality: it carries an aromatic profile with fermented notes, ripe fruit, spice and a lightly vegetal edge, without any wood influence taking the spotlight.

Vieux Sajous 2019 5y is a Haitian sugar cane juice rum from Velier, produced by the Chelo distillery. It starts with the Cristalline cane variety, grown without chemicals on 30 hectares. That detail matters here, because this is a rum with a clear agricultural starting point rather than a spirit built around anonymity.
The production keeps that character close to the surface. Fermentation takes place naturally for 5 to 8 days with indigenous yeasts, followed by distillation over an open fire in a copper pot still. Maturation then takes place in the tropical climate of the Distillerie de Port-au-Prince cellars, using American oak and a combination of casks that previously held rum and whiskies.

Chairman's Reserve White Label is a molasses-based rum from St. Lucia, built around a clear fruit-and-spice profile rather than an age statement. It is a rum where the emphasis sits on style and character in the glass, not on a declared number of years.
Traditional column distillation gives it a clean foundation, while bourbon cask influence adds a light touch of wood. That wood note stays in the background, allowing the fruitier and spicier sides of the rum to remain the main focus, with only a modest sweetness supporting them.
