Mars Yakushima 2021
In stock
Mars Yakushima 2021 is a Japanese single malt from Mars Maltage with a distinctly assertive personality. The name places Yakushima and the 2021 release at the centre, giving the bottle the feel of a specific edition rather than a standard ongoing expression.
Its appeal lies in the combination of 56% alcohol strength and a profile where spice and peat are clearly present. Oak cask maturation adds a woody layer, though the flavour profile suggests that the wood supports the whisky rather than dominating it.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of Japanese single malt we would place in front of someone looking for a more pronounced style: powerful, smoky, spicy and less restrained than many softer whiskies. With the last bottles indicated, Mars Yakushima (…)Ballechin 2005 17y Small Batch Burgundy Tube Incl.

Ballechin 2005 17y Small Batch Burgundy is a Highland single malt with a clearly defined personality. Distilled in November 2005, it spent 17 years maturing, with Burgundy casks forming an important part of its identity.
The appeal here lies in the meeting of maturity, peat and cask strength. Bottled at 53.5%, it keeps a firm, direct presence rather than being shaped into a softer standard expression. The Small Batch indication also gives it a more focused feel within the Ballechin range.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of whisky we would point out to someone looking for a Scottish single malt with real structure and a smoky-spiced core. Ballechin 2008 14y is a Highland single malt with a very defined sense of place and time. Distilled on 10 September 2008 and bottled on 26 October 2022, it spent 14 years maturing before being bottled at cask strength. As a single cask release limited to 480 bottles, it speaks much more of one individual cask than of a broad house style.
The Rum Matured indication gives this release an extra point of interest, while the 61% alcohol strength keeps the whisky close to its original cask character. This is a bottling with presence, made for drinkers who appreciate strength, individuality and limited-release Scotch malt.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, releases like this are valued because they capture a specific maturation story: one cask, one age, one distillation (…)Caol Ila Distillers Edition Incl. Box

Caol Ila Distillers Edition Incl. Box

Caol Ila Distillers Edition takes the Islay single malt character of Caol Ila and gives it an added dimension through a Moscatel finish. The whisky stays firmly within a smoky and spiced register, yet the finishing cask brings a gentler fruit-and-floral nuance that sets it apart from a more straightforward Islay profile.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of bottle we would bring into the conversation when someone enjoys Caol Ila but wants to explore a slightly different interpretation of its style. Peat smoke remains central, supported by a touch of saltiness and restrained wood, while the Moscatel influence adds another layer rather than changing the whisky's identity.
Bottled at 43%, it keeps a clear and approachable structure without losing its (…)Longrow Red Pinot Noir 15y

Longrow Red Pinot Noir 15y
Very last one in stock!
Longrow Red Pinot Noir 15y is a Campbeltown single malt with a clear sense of direction. Fifteen years of age, wine maturation and bottling at cask strength give it a firm, expressive profile rather than a polished or softened one.
The Pinot Noir name places this release firmly within the Longrow Red style, where wine maturation plays an important role. What stands out here is the interplay between peat and spice, supported by lighter fruity, floral, woody and salty notes. It is a whisky built on contrast and structure, with the cask influence adding another layer without taking the focus away from the Longrow identity.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, we would point this bottle towards drinkers who enjoy single malt with presence and a little edge. The 51.4% (…)Ardmore 2009 10y Nectar (The Single Malts Of Scotland - Single Malts Of Scotland For The Nectar)

Ardmore 2009 10y Nectar (The Single Malts Of Scotland - Single Malts Of Scotland For The Nectar)

Ardmore 2009 10y Nectar is a Highland single malt with a clear independent bottling identity. Distilled in December 2009 and bottled in October 2020 by The Single Malts of Scotland for The Nectar, it captures Ardmore through one focused release rather than a broad house expression.
Its appeal lies in the combination of a single cask, cask strength bottling and a small outturn of 230 bottles. That makes it a very specific snapshot: one cask, ten years of maturation, and a whisky presented with its strength intact at 57.8%.
The Peated Cask brings peat into the foreground, supported by a notably spicy profile. Wood, fruit, floral notes and a light saline edge sit more quietly around that core. At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of bottle we like for its (…)Bn9 Elements Of Islay 50cl

Bn9 Elements of Islay 50cl shows Bunnahabhain in a strong, direct style. This Islay single malt was distilled in 2014, matured for 7 years in American oak and bottled at cask strength, reaching 59.1% ABV. It is a whisky built around presence rather than restraint.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this bottle stands out for the way it brings together Islay origin, clear peat influence and a spicy profile, while remaining a limited release of 2185 bottles. Within the Elements of Islay range, Bn9 feels like a focused snapshot of Bunnahabhain rather than a broad house-style bottling.
With the last bottles now in circulation, there is an added sense of scarcity around this release. Its appeal lies in that combination of cask strength, limited availability and a flavour (…)Compass Box This Is Not A Festival (Compass Box Limited Edition)

Compass Box This Is Not A Festival is a Scottish blended malt with a deliberately offbeat name and a limited-edition identity. Bottled by Compass Box at 49%, it carries no age statement and is described as multivintage, so the focus sits on composition and style rather than on a single age or year.
American oak forms part of the story here, giving the whisky a wood influence that supports rather than overwhelms the profile. The flavour direction is clearly led by spice and peat, with lighter touches of fruit, floral character, saltiness and oak around the edges. That makes it a blended malt with a more pronounced and layered personality than a straightforward mellow style.

Penderyn 10y Artist presents Welsh single malt through the lens of one individual cask. Distilled in 2010 and bottled in 2020, it spent 10 years in a bourbon barrel before being selected for La Maison du Whisky's Artist Collection.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of bottle we see as interesting because it is so specific. It is a single cask release, bottled at cask strength at 60.8%, with only 211 bottles drawn from that barrel. With the last bottles remaining, it has the feel of a small, clearly defined release rather than a standard expression.
The profile points towards spice and peat as the main accents, supported by lighter touches of fruit, floral notes, wood and a subtle salty edge. The bourbon barrel is part of the story, but the wood (…)Stalla Dhu 2010 11y Oran Island Sd (Stalla Dhu Single Cask)

Stalla Dhu 2010 11y Oran Island Sd is a Scottish single malt with the distillery name kept undisclosed. That gives the bottle a certain intrigue: rather than relying on a famous label, it invites you to focus on the individual cask and the style it presents.
This release was bottled by Stalla Dhu as a single cask from a sherry butt, with 657 bottles produced. As these are the last bottles, the release has become increasingly limited. Bottled at cask strength at 50% alcohol, it keeps a more direct link to the strength and personality of the cask.

Sweet Smoky Dreams Are Made Of This 1997 25y 66.248 is a Highland single malt from Ardmore, bottled by the Scotch Malt Whisky Society as part of the Artist Collection. Distilled in 1997 and bottled in 2023, it spent 25 years in a hogshead before being released from a single cask. Laphroaig 2015 10y is an Islay single malt with a familiar origin, yet shown here in a notably fresh style. Laphroaig has been associated for more than two centuries with peat smoke, medicinal notes and maritime influence. In this Cadenhead Original Collection release, that identity comes through with citrus, saline edges and refined peat smoke at the centre.
Distilled in 2015 and matured for 10 years, it spent its full maturation in a bourbon barrel. That cask choice supports the brighter side of the whisky, without softening away the Islay character. The peat is clearly present, joined by spice, coastal freshness and a modest fruit note that gives the whisky lift.

Ledaig 1999 23y by Gordon & McPhail is the kind of single malt where the interest lies in the detail: Mull origin, long maturation, one individual cask and a very small outturn. It was bottled as part of the Gordon & McPhail Connoisseurs Choice range, a setting that suits whiskies selected for their own particular cask identity.
Drawn from a refill hogshead and bottled at cask strength, 55.4%, this release keeps close to the whisky as it came from the cask. The refill wood is an important part of the story: present enough to shape the whisky, without suggesting an overly wood-driven style.

Kilchoman 100% 11y Sherry shows the richer, sherry-matured side of this Islay single malt. It was distilled from the 2011, 2012 and 2013 barley harvests and matured for at least 11 years in 16 ex-oloroso sherry butts.
The appeal here lies in the meeting of Kilchoman's peated Islay character with the darker influence of oloroso maturation. The whisky keeps its smoke and a touch of coastal saltiness, while gaining depth through dried fruit, chocolate and sweet spice.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of bottle we like to point out to drinkers who already enjoy peated whisky but want something with more maturity and sherry-driven weight. Bottled at 50%, it has the strength to carry its fruit, smoke and oak influence with confidence.

Lagg Small Batch Manzanilla shows a particularly focused side of Lagg: heavily peated single malt from the Isle of Arran, shaped by the salty, wine-like finesse of Manzanilla casks. The peat smoke is clear, but it is carried by more than intensity alone, with red fruit, warm honey and gentle spice giving the whisky extra depth.
Its maturation tells much of the story. The whisky first spent time in first- and second-fill bourbon barrels, before receiving more than a year of finishing in first-fill Manzanilla casks. That final stage adds a maritime, mineral edge and keeps the richness neatly framed.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this release as a strong choice within the Scottish single malt selection for drinkers who enjoy peat with structure and (…)Laphroaig 14y Willem Dafoe Incl. Box

Its limited nature is part of the appeal. Only 1476 bottles were released, exclusively for Belgium and Luxembourg, so this is not a widely available core expression. At Drankenshop Broekmans, we appreciate bottlings like this because they give Islay drinkers something specific to explore: peat, spice and coastal character shaped by a compact batch of bourbon and sherry casks.

Kildalton 2008 16y is a peated Islay single malt from an undisclosed distillery. That anonymity puts the focus exactly where it should be here: on the whisky's forceful, medicinal peat and the sweeter depth brought by maturation in a sherry hogshead.

In stockWolfburn Morven shows the lightly peated side of Highland single malt, with smoke that is clearly present but carefully held in check. The malted barley is infused with peat smoke during the drying process, a nod to the 19th century, when peat was widely used as a fuel.
Its appeal lies in the way that smoky heritage is shaped into something soft and rounded. Slow distillation and maturation in Wolfburn's own warehouses give Morven a composed feel, while bourbon barrels add gentle wood influence and vanilla-toned sweetness.

Ben Nevis Traditional Peated shows a smoky side of Highland single malt, built around malty richness and a gently rugged style. The distillery sits at the foot of the mountain that shares its name, and this whisky carries that sense of Highland weight without becoming heavy-handed.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this as a Ben Nevis with a clear peated identity, yet still very much shaped by malt, fruit and spice. The peat smoke is present, but it works together with the whisky's creamy, oily texture rather than dominating the glass.
Bottled at 46%, it has enough strength to let the smoke and spice speak clearly. A traditional peated Highland single malt for drinkers who enjoy peat with structure, malt depth and a touch of fruit alongside it.
