Château Meyney 2019 is the grand vin of Château Meyney from Saint-Estèphe, on Bordeaux's Left Bank. The estate's continuous vineyard sits on well-draining gravel and pebble soils above the Gironde, with a vein of blue clay beneath, a setting that helps frame the wine's structured Médoc character.
The 2019 blend brings together cabernet sauvignon, merlot and petit verdot. The petit verdot is a particularly meaningful part of the Meyney identity, coming from old massal-selection vines planted in the 1950s and used here in a clearly noticeable proportion. The grapes were carefully sorted, vinified by vat with gentle extraction, and matured for 18 months in French oak barriques, partly new.

Chateau Meyney 2020 is a red Bordeaux from Saint-Estèphe on the left bank, made as the Grand Vin of Château Meyney. The blend follows a classic Médoc pattern, led by Cabernet Sauvignon with Merlot and Petit Verdot, and comes from an estate whose official history goes back to 1625.
The vineyard forms one continuous holding on gravel rises overlooking the Gironde, with Garonne gravel soils and a vein of blue clay beneath. For the 2020 vintage, the grapes were sorted twice, first in the vineyard and again in the cellar, before a gentle, vat-by-vat vinification aimed at controlling extraction. The wine then spent 18 months in French oak barriques.
One of the most distinctive elements here is the Petit Verdot. Château Meyney notes that it (…)Chateau Meyney 2021

Chateau Meyney 2021

Château Meyney 2021 is a red Bordeaux from Saint-Estèphe in the Médoc, with the firm, dark-fruited personality one often looks for from this appellation. It is the estate's grand vin, built on cabernet sauvignon with merlot and petit verdot adding their part to the blend.
The 2021 vintage asked for careful work. A cool, wet and relatively sun-poor growing season made selection especially important, so Meyney relied on sorting in both vineyard and cellar, gentle extraction and 18 months of ageing in French oak barriques. Rather than a broad, sun-drenched style, this is a more focused Bordeaux with freshness, grip and definition.
There is an extra point of interest here: 2021 was the first vintage in which Château Meyney was in (…)Chateau Meyney 2022

Chateau Meyney 2022

Château Meyney 2022 is the estate's Grand Vin from Saint-Estèphe, on Bordeaux's Left Bank. The blend is led by Cabernet Sauvignon, with Merlot and a notable 13% share of Petit Verdot, giving this vintage a firm and distinctive Saint-Estèphe identity.
The 2022 growing season was warm and dry, with early, even flowering and a long period of drought from mid-June onwards. Meyney's clay-rich subsoil helped retain moisture in these conditions. The grapes were sorted twice, in the vineyard and in the cellar, then vinified with extraction tailored tank by tank. Maturation took place for 18 months in French oak barrels.
One of the most telling details of the vintage is the role of Petit Verdot. The château considered it especially strong in (…)
