Maison Charlopin Tissier Bourgogne Côte d'Or White 2022 is a dry white Burgundy made entirely from Chardonnay, from the regional Bourgogne appellation with the Côte d'Or geographical indication. It speaks clearly of Burgundy, yet in a way that remains approachable: precise, fresh and shaped by careful ageing rather than by overt oak.
The wine comes from Domaine Charlopin Tissier in Morey-Saint-Denis, founded in 2013 by Yann Charlopin and Justine Tissier. The estate is described as small-scale, with vineyards farmed according to organic principles. For this cuvée, Chardonnay from old vines is aged for 16 months on fine lees in 400-litre barrels, with less than 20% new oak. That detail matters in the glass: the wine has texture and depth, but the fruit and (…)Chateau Carbonnieux Blanc 2022

Chateau Carbonnieux Blanc 2022

Château Carbonnieux Blanc 2022 is the dry white grand vin of Château Carbonnieux in Pessac-Léognan. It is not simply a white counterpart to a red wine: Carbonnieux is one of the Bordeaux estates classified in Graves for both white and red, and that sense of seriousness comes through in the way this wine is made.
The 2022 blend is 60% Sauvignon and 40% Sémillon. The vintage was warm and dry, giving small, concentrated grapes and low yields. For the white wine, early picking was important to preserve the Carbonnieux style. The grapes were harvested by hand, carefully selected, gently pressed and then fermented and matured in oak vessels on the lees, with the oak described as supportive rather than dominant.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, we (…)Klein Constantia 2019 50cl

Klein Constantia 2019 is a natural sweet white wine from Constantia in South Africa's Western Cape, made from Muscat de Frontignan. In this 50 cl bottle, Vin de Constance reflects a vintage shaped by cooler, wetter and windier conditions, giving small concentrated berries, fresh acidity and slow, late ripening.
The picking process is central to the wine's identity. For 2019, Klein Constantia made 26 separate passes through the vineyard, ranging from grapes with higher acidity to very ripe, raisin-like berries. The components were first handled separately and then brought together later in fermentation to find the right balance between sugar, alcohol and acidity. Fermentation stopped naturally; this is not a fortified wine.
The wine then spent 18 months in (…)Maison Philippe Charlopin Chablis 1er Cru Beauroy 2022

Maison Philippe Charlopin Chablis 1er Cru Beauroy 2022 is a dry white Burgundy from the Chablis Premier Cru appellation. It comes from Beauroy, a climat on the left bank of the Serein, and is made from Chardonnay. Rather than presenting Chablis in its most sharply citrus-driven form, this wine leans towards a riper and broader interpretation while keeping the freshness that defines the area.
The grapes are described as coming from vines of around 50 years old on a sunny slope in Beauroy. Poor, stony, limestone-rich soils give the wine its mineral tension, while the exposure brings more body and fruit. Within Chablis Premier Cru, Beauroy is associated with wines that carry fruit, structure and a certain breadth.
Philippe Charlopin is based in Gevrey-Chambertin (…)Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc

Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc

Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc shows Marlborough in a very recognisable way: bright, aromatic and driven by crisp citrus freshness, with ripe fruit held in check by a clean, saline edge. Much of the fruit comes from vineyards on the Wairau Valley floor, where free-draining gravelly soils play an important role in shaping this Sauvignon Blanc style.
Most of the fermentation takes place in stainless steel, keeping the wine focused and expressive. A small part of the blend is treated differently, with fermentation in oak and some wild yeast influence, adding texture and extra depth without taking away the wine's lively, citrus-led identity.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this as a white wine with real gastronomic appeal. It sits beautifully alongside seafood, (…)Pouilly Fume Premier Millesime 2022

Domaine Bouchié-Chatellier Pouilly-Fumé Premier Millésime 2022 is a dry white wine from the Loire, made in Saint-Andelain from 100% sauvignon blanc, known locally as Blanc Fumé. Premier Millésime is the estate's selected cuvée, drawn from chosen plots of old vines on the hill above the Loire.
The wine is shaped by a very specific place. Its grapes come from flint-rich clay soils with shell-bearing Kimmeridgian material, a combination selected for a more concentrated and structured expression than the estate's basic cuvées. That gives this Pouilly-Fumé its meeting point between ripe fruit, freshness and a distinctly stony, flinty thread.
In the cellar, the approach is precise: pneumatic pressing, static (…)Klein Constantia 2018 50cl

Klein Constantia Vin de Constance 2018 is a naturally sweet white wine from Constantia in South Africa's Western Cape. Made from Muscat de Frontignan, it belongs to Klein Constantia's historic Vin de Constance cuvée. At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this as a bottle that deserves a little explanation: its charm lies not simply in sweetness, but in the way sweetness is held together by freshness, concentration and place.
The 2018 vintage developed through a long, slow growing season, with notably cool nights and a harvest that arrived later than usual. The grapes were picked in 21 separate passes between early February and mid-April. Earlier selections brought acidity, while later ones added greater ripeness and depth. That patient approach gives the final wine its (…)Zeni Passito Bianco Del Veneto Demi (37,5cl)

Zeni Passito Bianco Del Veneto Demi (37,5cl)

Zeni Passito Bianco del Veneto Demi is a sweet white passito wine from Veneto, made by Cantina F.lli Zeni in Bardolino, close to Lake Garda. The 37.5 cl half bottle feels very much in tune with the wine's purpose: a concentrated glass for dessert, foie gras or a quiet moment on its own.
It is produced from Garganega and Chardonnay grown in the province of Verona. The grapes are hand-selected at full ripeness and then dried for 3 to 4 months in small crates. Part of the fruit develops noble rot during this period, adding to the depth and intensity of the wine.
Only the first must is used after gentle pressing. Slow fermentation in barriques and 12 to 16 months of maturation in French oak shape its warm, sweet and persistent style. At Drankenshop Broekmans, (…)Cloudy Bay Chardonnay

Cloudy Bay Chardonnay

Cloudy Bay Chardonnay shows a broader, more textured side of Marlborough. The wine brings together fruit from several vineyards, selected for the way their soils complement each other. The warmer, stony soils of the Wairau Valley contribute ripeness, while the cooler clay soils of the Southern Valleys help keep the wine poised and elegant.
After gentle pressing, the juice is transferred to French oak barriques and larger vessels, followed by 11 months of maturation before blending. There is a measured use of new oak, giving the wine depth without pushing the fruit into the background. Malolactic fermentation adds roundness and texture, while the wine retains a clear line of freshness.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of dry white Chardonnay we like (…)Aile D'Argent Du Chateau Mouton Rothschild 2020

Aile d'Argent 2020 is the dry white wine of Château Mouton Rothschild in Bordeaux. It shows another side of the Pauillac estate: a white cuvée born from the planting of white grape varieties in the 1980s, now sitting alongside the château's red wines as its own distinct expression.
For the 2020 vintage, the blend is 66% Sauvignon and 34% Sémillon. The fruit comes from sandy and gravelly plots on the Mouton Rothschild terroir, although the wine is labelled as Bordeaux blanc. It was an early vintage, harvested from 24 to 28 August, with the timing chosen to retain freshness and aromatic finesse.
The winemaking points to precision rather than heaviness: no skin contact, no malolactic conversion, and oak ageing with around 45% new wood (…)Aile D'Argent Du Chateau Mouton Rothschild 2021

Aile d'Argent du Château Mouton Rothschild 2021 is the dry white Bordeaux from Château Mouton Rothschild. It shows another side of a property best known for Pauillac: a white wine rooted in the Sauvignon Blanc, Sauvignon Gris and Sémillon plantings established on the estate from the early 1980s by Philippine de Rothschild.
The 2021 vintage brought a cooler, fresher style, with the white grapes harvested between 6 and 20 September. A small proportion underwent malolactic conversion to soften the naturally high freshness of the year, while maturation with partly new oak adds texture and depth rather than an overtly woody impression.
The name has a personal origin as well: Aile d'Argent refers to a children's story created by Baron Philippe de (…)Alberelli Di Giodo Bianco 2021

Alberelli Di Giodo Bianco 2021 is a white Terre Siciliane IGT wine from Sicily's Etna area. In the hands of Carlo Ferrini and Bianca Ferrini, Carricante is presented with real clarity: high altitude, volcanic soils, northern exposure and stainless-steel ageing rather than oak.
The fruit comes from a tiny 0.40-hectare vineyard, with vines around 50 years old planted at 800 to 900 metres above sea level. Alberelli refers to the traditional alberello training system used in the vineyard. Only 3,000 bottles were produced in 2021, giving this wine a focused, small-scale feel within the Drankenshop Broekmans selection of Italian whites.
Fermentation took place in stainless steel, followed by ageing on fine lees. That detail matters here: it helps explain the wine's (…)Alberelli Di Giodo Bianco 2022

Alberelli Di Giodo Bianco 2022 is a white wine from Terre Siciliane, made from Carricante grown in the Etna area. The name Alberelli refers to the traditional bush-trained vines, an important clue to the wine's origin: small high-altitude plots on the northern slopes of Mount Etna, rooted in volcanic black pumice soils.
Giodo is the wine project of Carlo Ferrini, and this Bianco is built around clarity of place rather than oak influence. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel, followed by ageing on the lees, with no wood maturation. That keeps the wine precise and fresh, while the lees bring extra texture. The Carricante grape, the altitude and the volcanic setting come together in a dry white wine with tension, salinity and a clearly mineral feel.

Altano White brings out the fresh white-wine side of the Douro. This is not white port, but a dry still white wine from Portugal, made by the Symington family. Its grapes come from higher-altitude vineyards, where cooler conditions help preserve aromatic lift and natural freshness.
Malvasia Fina, Viosinho, Moscatel Galego and Arinto shape the blend, giving the wine its bright fruit expression and lively acidity. Four months in stainless steel keep the focus firmly on purity and freshness, without any stated oak influence.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see Altano White as a very appealing choice for anyone looking beyond the obvious for a crisp Portuguese white with a clear Douro identity. It works well with grilled fish, seafood, white meat and pasta dishes, (…)Altano White Riserva 2021

Altano White Riserva 2021 is a Portuguese white wine that brings freshness and structure together in a very Douro way. Produced by Symington, it comes from high-altitude vineyards in areas such as Provesende and Valença do Douro, around 500 to 600 metres above sea level. That altitude matters here, because it helps preserve the acidity and brightness that shape the wine's character.
The blend is made from Arinto, Viosinho, Rabigato and Códega do Larinho. Much of the wine was barrel-fermented and aged sur lie, using French and Hungarian oak with a small proportion of acacia. Malolactic fermentation was avoided to retain freshness. This gives the wine more texture and mouthfeel than a simple unoaked Douro Branco, while keeping a clear, dry and lively profile.

Altano White Riserva 2022 is a Portuguese white wine from the Douro, made within Symington's Altano range. It has the feel of a white Reserva rather than a simple fresh white: there is brightness, but also structure and a little extra depth. The blend includes Viosinho, Gouveio, Rabigato and Códega do Larinho, placing it firmly in the white Douro style.
Its character comes partly from the way it is made. Fermentation begins in stainless steel and then continues in oak casks, followed by around eight months of maturation on the lees in cask and further bottle ageing before release. That gives the wine a noticeable but restrained oak influence, adding shape without taking away its freshness.

Altano White Riserva 2023 presents the Douro from a polished white-wine angle, with more depth than a straightforward fresh white. Symington works here with grapes from high-altitude vineyards, planted between 500 and 600 metres. That cooler setting helps the wine keep its acidity, lift and balance.
Viosinho forms the core of the blend, supported by Códega do Larinho, Arinto, Gouveio and Rabigato. These native white Douro varieties give the wine its aromatic detail, structure and sense of freshness.
The winemaking adds another layer. Part of the wine is fermented in stainless steel, while the rest is fermented and aged for 11 months on the lees in French and Hungarian oak barrels, with a subtle touch of acacia wood. It keeps its freshness, yet gains (…)Alto De Cantenac Brown 2021

Alto De Cantenac Brown 2021 reveals a different side of Château Cantenac Brown: not a red Margaux, but a dry white Bordeaux Blanc from France. The château writes the name as AltO, a musical reference that sits alongside the domaine's other wines.
The 2021 blend is built on 90% Sauvignon Blanc and 10% Sémillon, grown on a cool 1.80-hectare clay-limestone parcel. That gives the wine its fresh, focused backbone, while fermentation and ageing in French oak barrels add shape and texture. The oak plays a supporting role rather than dominating the wine.

AltO de Cantenac Brown 2022 shows a different side of an estate more often associated with Margaux. This is the dry white Bordeaux from Château Cantenac Brown, produced from a small vineyard of around 1.8 hectares on cool clay-limestone soil. The blend is 90% Sauvignon Blanc and 10% Sémillon, mirroring the vineyard planting itself.
The appeal of the 2022 vintage lies in its careful handling. The grapes were harvested on 25 and 26 August, slowly pressed under inert gas and fermented in barriques. Ageing took place in French oak barriques, mostly one-wine barrels with only a small proportion of new oak. That keeps the focus on freshness, aromatic clarity and mineral structure rather than obvious oak influence.

Bibi Graetz Colore Bianco 2021 is a distinctive white wine from Tuscany, released as Toscana Bianco IGT and made on Isola del Giglio. It is the white expression within the Colore line, produced from 100% Ansonica, a variety also known locally as Inzolia.
Its island origin is central to the wine. The grapes come from the Pietrabona vineyard, a terraced site in the south-eastern part of Giglio, close to the sea. Old vines, rocky and sandy soils shaped by granite, sea wind, sunshine and salt all contribute to the setting in which the Ansonica ripens. The vines are trained low to the ground in a local adapted alberello form to help protect them from the wind.
The 2021 growing season was warmer than usual, with winter rain providing reserves for the dry summer and (…)Bibi Graetz Testamatta Bianco 2021

Bibi Graetz Testamatta Bianco 2021 is the white expression within the Testamatta line: a dry Tuscan white wine under Toscana Bianco IGT, made entirely from Ansonica. For this vintage, the fruit comes from the Serrone vineyard on Isola del Giglio, just off the Tuscan coast.
Serrone is set on sea-facing terraces in the south-east of the island, around 60 to 150 metres above sea level. Poor rocky granite soils, maritime winds and old Ansonica vines, described in the 2021 technical notes as up to around 100 years old, all feed into the wine's saline, mineral personality. At Drankenshop Broekmans, we value this bottle for that clear island signature: it is Tuscan, but with the sea very close by.

Bibi Graetz Testamatta Bianco 2022 is a dry Italian white wine with a very specific sense of place. The grapes come from four high, terraced vineyards: Serrone, Radice, Scopeto and Olivello. Granite soils, mostly northern exposure, sunshine and sea breezes all play their part. That setting helps explain the wine's mix of Mediterranean ripeness, freshness, saline detail and aromatic lift.
In the cellar, Bibi Graetz combines stainless steel with barriques. A major part ferments and matures on the lees in barriques with bâtonnage, while the remainder (…)Bibi Graetz Testamatta White 2023
